How to Get There
We loved Portofino! We stayed in unit 1209 and it is on the end and we had ocean views from the master bedroom, the living room, and to the kids room! It has a large balcony with clear glass railing.the bedrooms were opposite the door so it seemed more quite. We had an assigned parking space which was very handy. You have to cross the road to get to the beach but it’s not a long walk. Each tower has its own pool and then there’s a main pool area that is large and very nice. The food at the resort is really good too. There is also an indoor pool.
We did a dolphin cruise from the resort. It was fun and we saw several dolphins and the captain told lots of history about the area as we travelled. It’s 3 hrs long tho but very relaxing and pretty.
There are inflatables on the bay side. We had already showed these to the kids but they were so expensive we decided not to do them and the kids were upset. Also you have to swim quite a ways to get to them and the water is 9 ft where the inflatables are. They do provide life jackets.
Another thing worth noting is Portofino is at the end of the strip so all the restaurants and activities are back up town. There is a grill on the balcony if you want to cook on your own
We would definitely stay here again!
We just stayed here for our first time and liked it so much. It is a cut above most of the other places on the beach. The clientele is not so much of the beach party crowd but a little more refined which is nice as everyone is cordial to each other at the pool and in the public areas. Along with that, the staff is very friendly and courteous. That type of thing just makes your stay more relaxing and enjoyable. After all, for us anyway, that is the whole idea of a beach vacation. We happened to stay on the penthouse floor, and the views were great, but I think that all floors have the same balcony set up and the views would be equally good from any high up floor.
The parking for each tower was handy and laid out well. We stayed in tower four which turned out to work well as it was right next to the Life Style center with it's indoor pool and lovely outdoor pools. Each tower doe's have it's own separate pool also. If you have a choice I would recommend tower four, just because of it's location.
I would certainly recommend the Porto Fino Island resort to anyone coming to Pensacola Beach.
We rented a condo through VRBO at the PortoFino resort was fantastic. The view of the gulf from the condo was outstanding and all the staff working in Tower One were amazing. The maintenance guy, Frank Evil, was very helpful and friendly and the lady Renah, that cleaned the entry ways and every corridor, by herself, for the entire Tower One with 21 floors was amazing - always smiling, very friendly and the cleanliness of the facility was impeccable. Renah took such pride in her work and it showed. The front office staff were ok but not nearly as friendly and welcoming as the staff in Tower One.
