How to Get There
I have been planning my vacation for months to celebrate my best friend birthday, my anniversary and the fact that my best friend, girlfriend and myself all got promoted at our separate jobs. From the very beginning the service was terrible. They would hang up on me or keep me on hold for long periods of time when i would call to make my reservation, they would say that they would put things in the notes in my reservation but never did until the next person i would talk to would fix it etc. Then when i check in the “front desk” person has the attitude that she doesn’t care that we just drove 5 hours to get there and that my early check in was supposed to be waived she was going to charge us $50 anyway until I spoke with the manager then that same front desk person charged me $100 for incidentals and didn’t tell me anything. I found out about it when i got a notification from my bank. We were also supposed to have a bottle of Champagne waiting for us in the room when we checked in but we didn’t get it until 10:00pm when we called about it to front desk even though we checked in at 12:00pm. The hotel is in a great location for tourists but the service kills it for me. I will most likely not be returning to this establishment because i felt disrespected and embarrassed because of how my best friend and girlfriend were treated on their first trip ever to Key West.
Great Hotel with ample free transportation to downtown. No airport shuttle, but taxi available. The only issue we had was with the bed mattress. It was not comfortable at all....no place like your home bed.
So I'll cut the long story short. It took us over 2 days to get from london heathrow to miami after cancelled flights and stress from missing connecting flights from atlanta to miami.
However on FINALLY arriving to the keys we spoke to the supervisor working that evening (November 8th) I think his name was Chris. He couldn't have been more helpful. After the stress of our travel nightmare he really did sort everything for us promptly and finally we could start our holiday.
As for the hotel I cannot fault it. A free shuttle to Mallory square was great - every 30mins in the afternoon and on the hour in the morning.
Happy hour at the bar was great. Room was modern with a good shower and flat screen TV with all the sports channels. I got to watch all the premier league football.
I rarely write long reviews like this but i feel this hotel honestly deserves it.
Thank you all the way from london... if ever I visit again I'll be back here for sure!
