How to Get There
Our 11th straight year to Key West. Wednesday happy hour at Southern Most Resort, was wonderful, with Stephanie and Anastasia. Some of the service We'be ever had, anywhere! Very friendly attentive and informative.Highly recommend!
Booked a 3 night night stay here in a twin double room. Was only for myself, but this room was offered at the best rate. Checking was nice and easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed in the Gingerbread wing. Rooms were clean and tidy and reasonable size. You're right on Duval St, but far away enough from the noise and crowds and minutes from the beach. Overall I had a very pleasant stay. My only grumble would be the resort fees and parking fees. $198 for 3 nights on top of my booking. Which once totalled up with my room reservation becomes expensive for a basic room. They did have some very nice looking rooms with great views however, the price for these was more than double what I'd paid. Overall a very pleasant stay in a clean and well maintained hotel.
I loved staying in the Southernmost Beach Resort. I enjoy resorts and hotels that aren't to be found anywhere else and that are unique, this resort did that for me. There are many pools to enjoy (an adult pool as well), activities run every day (the staff will make sure you know everything going on while you are in town), and a great ambiance that is to be absorbed. The rooms are comfortable and luxurious, the breakfast is not included but is on site, and there is a private beach area to take advantage of!
The resort is on the other side of the Key to Mallory Square (best place to watch the sunset) and the port. However, there is a trolley stop right beside it so it is easy to hop-on-hop-off at all the stops and places to visit.
The only thing is that you need a whole day just to enjoy the resort! I was only in Key West for two nights, so I was busy trying to cram everything in to one day of touring and did not have much time to enjoy the resort. If I come again, I will stay here and enjoy all they have to offer!
Just returned from a week-long vacation with my mom and absolutely loved Southernmost Beach Resort! I would highly recommend it! I was nervous initially since I had never been before and there are some mixed reviews but I am so very happy I stayed at this resort. I had an Ocean View King and requested a balcony so I was in the A building with a beautiful view. The room is spacious and decorated well and the bathroom is large. We appreciated the 2 bottles of water daily and there is a refrigerator. There are also CVS near by so you can go buy drinks/snacks. I would highly recommend paying the extra cost for a room in Building A, B, or C. Building A is the furthest from the Shores pool but it's still a great location and looks upon beautiful green gardens and the beach/ocean! There are multiple pools and the sunning pier is great as well. I ate lunch at the Shores pool and the food is pretty good- coconut shrimp, chicken tenders, conch fritters, fries. And they have a wide variety of beers and frozen drinks. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. I was so surprised that I had mentioned it was my mom's birthday and they had birthday decorations and a cookie set up in the room when we arrived - it was so sweet of them and of course my mom loved it. It's also very convenient to get around from this location - it's 10 minutes from the airport, down the street from the famous Southernmost Point, and then on the quiet end of Duval street but easy to walk the length of Duval to Hemingway House, Truman House, Mallory Square, the shops, bars and restaurants. All around a wonderful trip and anyone would be very happy staying at this resort!
We very much enjoyed our stay here. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It's a big property but it feels small and personal. We'd definitely go there again.
