How to Get There
Have stayed here 4 times over the last year and a half and have been so pleased with every stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The property is always in beautiful condition and it's not hard to figure out as we see staff always cleaning and painting and working on things every time we come. The rooms are bright and cheery and spacious. All the rooms have a small balcony, but it's nice to be able to sit outside. The pool is lovely with a waterfall and tiki bar. The internet is "spotty", but that's not why you come to Key West. It's a newer hotel, reasonably priced, and with breakfast included, I highly recommend it!
Reviews were positive so we chose to stay here. It was a very convenient location. Short walk to Dorval, and many places, rental bicycles as well as booking snorkeling excursion on site was most convenient. We see why some other hotels had reviews indicating how noisy it can get and we were glad Silver Palms was in a quiet area. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Expensive for the ammenities provided but considering the peak time, I guess paying over $300 seemed typical for similar quality hotels and motels. Breakfast was fine-typical continental style. Pool was fine for a quick dip which we did in late afternoons. Would not recommend for families who want to stay in to relax but perfect for those that are active, and for clean, convenient place to stay for few days. We visited some other pricier hotels but considering our active days, Silver Palms was the best choice. If you are looking for relaxation, would recommend renting houses which we saw in the vicinity versus staying at hotels. The restaurants Duffy’s and El Siboney were great places to grab dinner also. Walked around a lot in the late evenings with teenager kids and it seemed like a safe neighborhood.
First of all I would like to state that my wife and I are both General Manger's at separate beach resorts in Florida. We both read and reply to Trip Advisor reviews and fully understand the nuances of reviews. With that being said, we decided to take a "quick" trip to Key West for a long weekend. We searched hotels online and decided on the Silver Palms. The prices this time of year are quite high but expected. To be honest we are not B & B type people therefore this along with location is why we chose Silver Palms. We arrived Saturday around 1:00 pm and was told the room wasn't quite ready, no problem. They gave us two drink vouchers for the pool bar tiki which we enjoyed right away while sitting by the pool. After drinks we took a walk down Duval which was only about 3 blocks away. By the time we got to the restaurant of our choice, we got a call from the front desk stating our room was ready whenever we wanted to check-in. We got back to our room and found the room to be very clean and fresh. The room view was quite unattractive looking out onto a side street that was sort of unkempt by the neighboring buildings. Although a bit disappointing, my wife and I talked about it and came to the conclusion, "we're not in the room much anyhow to enjoy a view." Turned out we barely opened the plantation shutter blinds during our stay. The room had everything we needed from a refrigerator, microwave, coffee station and plenty of room. The biggest compliment we can give about the room was how comfortable the King size mattress was. My wife made me search out the name of the mattress but I didn't spend much time looking as it had a mattress protector on it. The location of the Inn was fantastic. We walked to Mallory Square which only took about 15-20 minutes, but it goes by fast due to the large amount of activities to see and do on the way. The second day we rented bikes directly from the Inn. This was so convenient and a must for those capable of riding. We nearly rode around the entire island and saw so much more than we would have if we didn't have bikes. For $12.99 per day per bike it's worth it! Oh yeah, free parking during our stay! We will definitely search out the Silver Palm Inn for our next trip to Key West.
The Hotel was very clean with super nice staff. Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Duvall street which made for a great location. Pool was nice and had beer and wine on patio. The continental breakfast was excellent which also included an omelette bar with fresh veggies and meats. The price was excellent, and we would definitely stay here again
This was the perfect location, close enough to downtown but a few blocks away to be far from the hustle bustle. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Breakfast was complete with all the elements of a hearty continental. Staff extremely friendly and kind. We will stay again next time.
