How to Get There
My husband and I both enjoyed our 4 night stay at this cute, boutique-like hotel. As pleasant has our stay was, I did feel it was over-priced; however they had an incredible staff that really went out of their way to ensure our week was as perfect as possible. I would stay at the Orchid Key again, but would also look into other comparably priced hotels first.
1. So clean! And I'm a clean freak.
2. The AC was silent and worked perfectly.
3. Loved the location. It was right on Duvall St but tucked away so we never heard any street noise.
4. The staff was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Olivia knew all the guest's names. She checked us in and also came out several times during the breakfast hours to chat, clear tables and refill coffee. After check out, our flight home was cancelled, and we reserved a room with them for another night at a discounted rate, When our flight actually did come through, we were able to cancel that reservation without any fee, even though we didn't cancel until 10 pm.
5. Attention to detail - 2 free daily drink coupons to the Orchid Key's bar was a nice touch, as was the fruit-infused ice water available all day. Pretty tablecloths, flowers, plush pool towels, help-yourself sunscreen, aloe for sunburns, bathrobes and again, the terrific staff were a pleasant surprise.
1. The pool area was beautiful, but small. Very small.
2. The bedroom was quite small too.
The Orchid Key Inn has a great location at the corner of Duval and Truman St with the service of the Inn being even greater than the location. Olivia at the front desk enthusiastically greeted and assisted us each day answering questions, giving great suggestions and directions to places of interest. Every member of the staff we encountered was extremely friendly and courteous. Complimentary breakfast poolside each morning was a perfect way to start each day. The pool area is landscaped perfectly and was a mini tropical paradise each afternoon to rest and enjoy a drink after exploring Key West. So quiet and peaceful you would never know you are steps away from the excitement of Duval St..
The Orchid Key Inn is such a treat in Key West. We visited the area 3 years ago, walked by it many times and vowed when we return we would stay there. Finally we did, what a special treat. Far better than any B&B. The rooms are very well appointed, modern yet very private. It is so nice to have breakfast by the pool with more than you need to start your day off well. we so enjoyed all the landscaping thought the property with the orchids spread throughout, truly feels so tropical. The staff, oh the staff...they are all so special, very helpful, friendly , just cannot do enough for you. We have already booked for our return visit in September and will likely make this annual thing at least once a year.
Thanks so Much to Peter, Olivia, Stacey and all the staff for a wonderful experience.
A beautiful oasis and hidden gem in the heart of Key West! Nestled right off Duval Street, the location is perfect - steps away from the action Duval has to offer - shopping, dining, nightlife. Short walk to the amazing Blue Heaven and Hemingway House. If you want to check out Half Shell and the boardwalk by the marina, it’s still totally walkable from the hotel. Well-maintained and tranquil property, complete with lush tropical plants and fountains. The pool is illuminated at night, surrounded by special touches...little candles on all the tables created a nice vibe. Adorable little bar right next to the pool with a chill happy hour. We did not encounter one staff member that was unfriendly -super nice and accommodating! It’s the little things that make this boutique hotel special...chocolate in your room at night, ice cold glass decanter of fruit-infused water always available by the pool, along with complimentary sunscreen and aloe. K-Cups in the room for a quick coffee fix! Our room was located closest to the street, but we never had an issue with noise...other than the “train” bell going off pretty regularly with all the tours. But, it’s a small price to pay for staying in paradise, easy to get over it! This is an ideal spot for couples. We truly felt so relaxed and pampered staying at Orchid Inn, I didn’t want to leave! Thank you for making our stay so special!
This Inn was a great place to stay. It is like a motel from years past, but all modern with a cozy feel. The staff was outstanding and the service was wonderful. The room was very nice and clean. All of the rooms surround the pool. They had a really nice continental breakfast, which we ate by the pool each morning. The Inn was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We understand why it is ranked at the top of places to stay in Key West and would definitely stay here again.
