Winter Getaway

If I am being honest, when we pulled into the parking lot, my husband and I looked at each other and thought maybe we had made a
Mistake. The Orchid is on Duvall, nestled in a small little area and looks kinda like a motel throwback. How wrong we were. First, you are greeted by Peter at the front desk and he is truly amazing! He knows everything about Key West and bends over backwards to accommodate all your wants and needs. The bar is intimate and everyone is super friendly. The rooms are completely updated and nicely decorated and they serve a continental breakfast every morning with enough choices to start the day off right and the ladies who serve it greet you every morning with a big smile. Everything about this place was perfect. The thing We liked most was that it is close enough that you can walk everywhere but far enough you are not in the middle of the craziness. I am so glad when I read the reviews that I took the chance and booked our stay here! We will definitely be returning to The Orchid Key Inn and the beautiful Key West sunsets.

Getaway from the cold birthday vacation

The service at this hotel was the best from the front desk to the maid service for the rooms. We thought that the room was going to be a little larger, but it was okay in that sense, very clean and the location and the amenities were first rate.

Wonderful stay in the heart of Key West

Like staying in a work of art! The outdoor paintings, landscape, pool, water fountains and building design made for a perfect retreat from the bustle and activities on Duval St. Rooms were very comfortable and always pristine clean. A great spot for couples!

A Gem in the Sun

Where does one begin? Take one of the best get away spots, add in some fun activities, and have a place like Orchid Key Inn to hang your hat, and you are certain to have great memories. We were in Key West for 13 days, so having elbow room for our stay was important. We booked one of the king suites which gave us two rooms. I'm an early riser and my wife likes to sleep in. That in addtion to having great sound proofing, I got to do my morning computer chores and she got her peace and quiet for a bit of sleeping in.

Location of the Inn was perfect for us. Under a 20 min walk to nearly all resturants and shopping and Mallory Square. A CVS is only 75 yards away, trolley stop across the street, multiple resturants within 5 min walk. No car needed.

The Inn's amenties are superior. From twice daily room/towel refreshing, lounging around the pool, happy hour every day, and a yummy breakfast bar every morning, what more could you want.

But wait, there's more. The entire staff proved to be the most friendly and helpful in making this vacation one of our most memorable. Between Peter, Olivia, and Dana (working the front desk), they were full of recommendations for the best and most enjoyable activies and places to eat. And beyond that, they would make the reservations for us, even at times making direct calls to the resturants to ensure we were taken care of. They gentley moved us along towards having a great vacation.
And we had fun.

It's no wonder that many of the guests we spoke to said they were returning guests. We certainly left Orchid Key Inn with hopes to return again.

Nostalgia Gets and Upgrade

My wife and I stayed at the Orchid Key in over the first week of February 2019. It is an old motor court like those made famous along Route 66 but one that has been beautifully updated. The rooms are modern and fully equipped with roomy showers and first-rate fixtures. The room, albeit small, was smartly designed and had everything one would need. Bright, clean and very comfortable.
But what is really fun about this inn is the courtyard which has a beautiful pool and exceptional landscaping.. Breakfast is served in the bar area just off the pool and you can sit in the sun or under a cleaver canopy. The staff is also welcoming and assisted us in booking a sunset sail that was one of the highlights of our visit to Key West.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The re-imagined motor court is truly fun and unique and zero sacrifices!
