Duval Street and Mallory Square are where all the action starts on Key West, and this 100-room Ocean Key Resort & Spa, A Noble House Resort overlooks both of them — which means it’s also a prime location for sunset views from some rooms and from every table on Sunset Pier, the more casual, Caribbean inspired restaurant on property. The slightly more formal Hot Tin Roof also serves sunset views alongside the shrimp risotto and broiled snapper, while the Liquid Lounge Pool Bar focuses on burgers and mojitos. Guestrooms have lime green walls, sleigh beds with pillow-topped mattresses, whirlpool baths and private furnished balconies. When guests aren’t taking a dip in the pool, they may be found enjoying a Balinese-inspired treatment in SpaTerre or biking around the Key.
In the Area
Every evening is an excuse for a party in Mallory Square, the beating heart of Key West, where jugglers, street vendors, musicians and animal trainers make for a festive vibe. Fill the hours before sunset with an Old Town Trolley sightseeing tour, a round of golf at the Rees Jones-designed Key West Golf Club, or a guided kayak eco-tour.
How to Get There
This is a five star hotel with an excellent staff. We were treated like royalty and I will stay here again. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for elegance and style. The balcony makes the whole experience complete! We had an awesome time.
We spent 3 nights in an ocean front suite, which was an unexpected and much appreciated upgrade from the ocean front room we booked. After the first night I requested a relocation due to an issue completely unrelated to the hotel and instead of relocating us to the class of room we booked, they relocated us to yet another suite! The first suite overlooked the ocean, pool and Mallory Square, the second suite overlooked the ocean and The Sunset Pier. They offer welcome cocktails to guests upon check-in at a cute, little “Rum Bar” in the lobby and have cucumber water in lobby at all times. Both rooms were IMMACULATE, the furnishings and finishes were quite nice and the beds super comfy. We had drinks and appetizers right before sunset at the upscale Hot Tin Roof restaurant and were very impressed with the view, the fresh and well prepared seafood dishes (ceviche, shrimp and lobster cocktails). We had appetizers from the Sunset Pier in our poolside cabana (conch fritters and ceviche) which were great and the bartender at the poolside bar was friendly and very attentive. Some areas of the hotel are in minor states of disrepair (paint chipping on some of the balcony railings, chips in paint on exterior of room doors, an out of service elevator) but those minor issues do not extend into the rooms themselves or the majority of the resort (did I say the rooms were IMMACULATE??). We thought pricing at the restaurants as well as minibar prices were quite reasonable. Every staff member we encountered was terrific, but especially the bellman, AJ at the front desk and both of the concierges. The team excelled at exceptional service and I give a big kudos to their housekeeping staff for doing an outstanding job.
This hotel has the perfect location for the Key West experience. The rooms are spacious, clean and have beautiful views. The staff is very gracious and helpful. I have stayed here before and will do so again.
This is definitely one of the pricier options on the west side of Key West. We only stayed on the island for one night, so we splurged with the upgraded ocean front room (room 412 sits perfectly above the pier where you can enjoy live music while watching the sunset!). The hotel is close to Duval St, attractions, and restaurants, and we experienced good hospitality by all staff members during our stay.
Stayed in an ocean front suite 4 nights with breakfast included at the hot tin roof. Definitely on the pricey side but delicious breakfast and great service. The room was very clean, seperate room with TV and couch with balcony access overlooking the pool and ocean. King size bed, nice size tub and shower. Cleaning staff provided great service and towels every day. Cannot stress enough how beautiful the view was from our room and sitting by the pool area at sunset. Poolside service was wonderful. Nice bartender at sunset pier bar was welcoming and friendly. Concierge helped set us up with a golf cart rental for our stay. Easy access to all the life on duval street. Going back soon!
