Duval Street and Mallory Square are where all the action starts on Key West, and this 100-room Ocean Key Resort & Spa, A Noble House Resort overlooks both of them — which means it’s also a prime location for sunset views from some rooms and from every table on Sunset Pier, the more casual, Caribbean inspired restaurant on property. The slightly more formal Hot Tin Roof also serves sunset views alongside the shrimp risotto and broiled snapper, while the Liquid Lounge Pool Bar focuses on burgers and mojitos. Guestrooms have lime green walls, sleigh beds with pillow-topped mattresses, whirlpool baths and private furnished balconies. When guests aren’t taking a dip in the pool, they may be found enjoying a Balinese-inspired treatment in SpaTerre or biking around the Key.
In the Area
Every evening is an excuse for a party in Mallory Square, the beating heart of Key West, where jugglers, street vendors, musicians and animal trainers make for a festive vibe. Fill the hours before sunset with an Old Town Trolley sightseeing tour, a round of golf at the Rees Jones-designed Key West Golf Club, or a guided kayak eco-tour.
How to Get There
We had purchased the Return To Paradise package which includes daily breakfast and two drinks per day. When we checked in we were not given any drink or breakfast coupons. The clerk handling our check-in had to call the manager to get this sorted out. Then, when we got to our room we found that we had only been given half of the drink coupons we were to receive. We had to make a return trip to the lobby to get this sorted out. The very same thing happened the last time we had visited. The tub drain stopper in the guest bath was missing. We informed the front desk about this, but we were never given a replacement stopper. We checked with the hotel a couple of days before our arrival about the status of the Sunset Pier repairs and were told they were complete. When we arrived we were told that all that remained was some electrical work. When we arrived in our room we found that the construction barge was still driving piling around the pier. Although the presence of the barge was not a big deal, a little more honesty about the status of the pier repairs would have been appreciated. All in all our stay was very enjoyable. We did recieve an upgrade in our room which was appreciated.
On reflection, we would have been much better in a B&B. We chose the hotel as it was in the heart of old Key West and we didn't know the area. However, by the time you added all the additional charges the cost was extortionate (and it didn't inbclude breakfast).
This hotel is gorgeous! But we didn't spend too much time on the property. It was located a few steps away from the pier where the "world" watches the sunset. Also a couple blocked from the docks for cruises, scuba trips and snorkeling. The room was beyond beautiful plantation style with a huge tub in the room... which was odd but kinda great! We had a corner suite with a wrap around balcony - It overlooked the sunset pier. I cannot wait to come back!
Perfect that is how my husband and I would descibe our stay at Ocean Key. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and they always did it with a happy attitude. Our room was amazing and much more than we expected. The resort itself is so close to everything, but it is designed so well that you feel like you are on a private island. Especially since we had an oceanfront view from our huge balcony. We will definitely be back to stay at Ocean Key!
We booked this hotel to attend a wedding. Our stay here is enjoyable, relaxing, romantic and a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, clean with a very pleasant staff. The location is beyond beautiful!
