A cozy room at a waterfront hideaway, in a wine region that's acclaimed among sommeliers

The Lowdown

Head back to nature and back in time in the beautiful Finger Lakes region. Bragdon House Bed and Breakfast/Wine Tours, on Seneca Lake, the largest and deepest of the 11, is surrounded by greenery and water outside, and packed with romantic touches inside. Experience both, without having to leave at all: the first, as you sit upon the lake-view veranda; the second, as you admire the toile wallpaper along the staircase, settle into an overstuffed armchair in one of the two traditionally designed parlors, and curl up in an impossibly comfy bathrobe.
This inviting property also serves a delicious daily breakfast, but it’s the location that really makes it worthy of its almost perfect TripAdvisor reviews and Certificate of Excellence: You’re right in the heart of the region’s best. Get your fill of cultural attractions, whether you explore the Rose Hill Mansion and dramatic Belhurst Castle, or head out antiquing nearby. You may even discover some of the 100-plus area wineries and breweries; the inn is proud to offer its very own wine tours (you pick between red, white, sweet or dry). And then there’s charming Geneva downtown, closer to you than to any other B&B, and housing FLX Table – America’s best new restaurant, according to USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice poll.

Each Wi-Fi-equipped room has its own unique design and décor, but all share a traditional feel, plus

A small lakeside town with big-city culture, Geneva, an Arbor Day Foundation Tree City USA, offers the stunning beauty of Seneca Lake – the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes – as well as a friendly downtown scene full of shops, restaurants, theater and music. Bragdon House Bed and Breakfast/Wine Tours puts you on the water and near the best of this upstate New York destination, including its wineries (which you can visit on the eponymous wine tours), shopping, golfing, arts and more. Bustling Linden Street is closer to you than to any other B&B and holds FLX Table, voted the best new restaurant in America in January 2017 in USA TODAY’s 10Best.com Readers’ Choice poll. Rochester and Syracuse are an hour away each, and New York and Brooklyn four to five.

Relaxing weekend away
Reviewed 2 months ago

My husband and myself with our 2 friends stayed here for 2 nights dor a nice couples wine weekend away. We stayed in the Phoebe and Di's suite. The rooms we're amazing. So comfortable and homey. The beds were so comfortable and cozy! We loved just hanging out in the living room and playing games. We had some great laughs and the owner's (Jen and Di) were so gracious and hilarious. We Also did a 5 hour wine tour we Had set up on Saturday where they drive us. They helped us figure out the beat places to go and they even had arrangements with some of tge wineries so we could get complimentary wine tastings! All in all it was a wonderful weekend away and we left with smiles on our faces and a few bottles of wine!!

Great getaway

Bragdon House is set just above the lake near downtown Geneva with a panoramic view from room windows as well as a beautiful back porch. Diane and Jennifer are two of the most welcoming people we have encountered in our travels. Rooms are amazingly well stocked, comfortable, warm (this is February), and spacious. The whole house has a very interesting history and is decorated with an intriguing eclectic display of "Geneviana". We had a great breakfast and morning conversation with both of the co-owners who are born in Geneva and can direct you to the very best it has to offer. It was a great trip and we will be returning to visit our new found friends and see Geneva and the surrounding area in the better weather.

Fun Weekend with Friends

This is our 2nd time to the Bragdon house with our friends. Jen is an amazing woman and owner who takes her time to make sure that everyone and everything is taking care of when we arrive. Every room is tastefully and beautifully decorated with charm and flare of early century decor. We felt very comfortable throughout the house and Jen made sure we knew where everything was. She has plenty of clean and comfy blankets for cold nights on the deck so we can enjoy the lake views. She makes the best scones and coffee/tea for breakfast. This is the only place we would ever stay at when we come to Geneva in the Finger Lakes. Close to everything, walking distance to restaurants and the lake. Just a great place to stay!!!

Great Visit & Tour

What a wonderful B&B, with fun friendly mother and daughter hosts, our short visit very enjoyable. I knew after my phone conversation with Jen about a room that I wanted to stay at Bragdon House. She made me feel so welcomed on the phone. When we arrived, we found all she told me to be true. The room was so nice and the bed was especially comfortable. She had offered me the wine tour and I was hesitant because of the price, but after taking the tour with Diane as our guide my husband and I felt it was well worth it. She was a great guide and took us to wineries we would have never found. Having her drive us made it easy for us to taste lots of wines and not have to worry about driving. Diane was also helpful in giving us information on where to have dinner and where else to visit. We would definitely stay here again.
