Head back to nature and back in time in the beautiful Finger Lakes region. Bragdon House Bed and Breakfast/Wine Tours, on Seneca Lake, the largest and deepest of the 11, is surrounded by greenery and water outside, and packed with romantic touches inside. Experience both, without having to leave at all: the first, as you sit upon the lake-view veranda; the second, as you admire the toile wallpaper along the staircase, settle into an overstuffed armchair in one of the two traditionally designed parlors, and curl up in an impossibly comfy bathrobe.
This inviting property also serves a delicious daily breakfast, but it’s the location that really makes it worthy of its almost perfect TripAdvisor reviews and Certificate of Excellence: You’re right in the heart of the region’s best. Get your fill of cultural attractions, whether you explore the Rose Hill Mansion and dramatic Belhurst Castle, or head out antiquing nearby. You may even discover some of the 100-plus area wineries and breweries; the inn is proud to offer its very own wine tours (you pick between red, white, sweet or dry). And then there’s charming Geneva downtown, closer to you than to any other B&B, and housing FLX Table – America’s best new restaurant, according to USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice poll.
Each Wi-Fi-equipped room has its own unique design and décor, but all share a traditional feel, plus
A small lakeside town with big-city culture, Geneva, an Arbor Day Foundation Tree City USA, offers the stunning beauty of Seneca Lake – the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes – as well as a friendly downtown scene full of shops, restaurants, theater and music. Bragdon House Bed and Breakfast/Wine Tours puts you on the water and near the best of this upstate New York destination, including its wineries (which you can visit on the eponymous wine tours), shopping, golfing, arts and more. Bustling Linden Street is closer to you than to any other B&B and holds FLX Table, voted the best new restaurant in America in January 2017 in USA TODAY’s 10Best.com Readers’ Choice poll. Rochester and Syracuse are an hour away each, and New York and Brooklyn four to five.
How to Get There
My wife and I spent two fabulous nights here for our anniversary and would return in a minute. We stayed in the first floor study and didn’t want to leave the room it was so nice . The owners were the nicest people you would want to meet. The scones and coffee were the best and Diane would not let us leave without some treats for the road. All in all probably the best place we have stayed in along time..... highly recommended.
We visited the Bragdon House in July for one night in the middle of a trip to see family. This is probably my favorite B & B ever! We stayed in the Phoebe room, which was spacious and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the black and white toile decor. We enjoyed talking to mother-daughter owners Di and Jenn. They were both so friendly and answered all of our questions. We had the most delicious blueberry scones, coffee and fruit. The inn has several different common areas to enjoy, including several porches. The inn is in a wonderful location; many shops and restaurants were within walking distance. I wish we had stayed longer than one weekday night, and we will definitely return!
I am just catching up on all of my TripAdvisor reviews. I stayed at the Bragdon House Inn a few summers ago and it was an excellent experience! The place is so beautiful and in walking distance of downtown Geneva. The breakfasts were delicious. Jen and Dianne were gracious hosts with many great recommendations on wineries and things to do in the area. Their dog Cookie was adorable. I loved everything about this stay, and I hope to make it back there one day.
