Wonderful stay for a night
Reviewed 24 hours ago

I have stayed at Karawan for a night and it was one of the most beautiful hotels/roads I have been.

Contemporary, modern, tasteful and stylish.

We didn't need a guide since we have been to Fes for 5 days by the time we have arrived Karawan. It is conveniently located near Cinema Amal with the cab stands.right outside. so you would be able to find multiple petit taxis awaiting. The neighborhood is more local than the main road of Medina and has something to offer. Staffs were welcoming and kind. We were allowed to check out late at 1 since we were staying only for a night.

The stone bath tub was very worth the special feature of the room. Bed was comfy and the bed linens were soft. Breakfast was delicious.

The room that I stayed had a side terrace and a study with a couch with some books. Very peaceful.

On the day we were leaving, the staffs brought a tiny cart to carry our luggages. Although our luggages were filled with souvenirs and were very heavy, it was no hassle to get to the cab and go to another riad for us.

This riad is really amazing and comfortable if you are looking for something modern.

I would recommend this riad to anyone who would like to try something different from the traditional Moroccan riad - I am definitely coming back to stay at another suite!

Thank you to all the staffs at Karawan for making our stay so comfortable and unforgettable!

Undiscovered Gem of a Riad with a contemporary touch

We were seeking an authentic boutique hotel experience in Fes and Karawan Riad delivers with a combination of sophisticated design/decor, cuisine, spa and an attentive staff. Personalized by Imana Lahkim Bennani the General Manager and her amazing team!

We own Zero George - a boutique hotel in Charleston, South Carolina and as owner to owner -- we truly appreciate the attention to the details!

I Did Not Want to Leave

This property is just beautiful. After a long commute by car from Casablanca, we were grateful to fall into the stylish amenities offered by Karawan Riad. The appointments in the Laawan Suite exceeded my expectations for comfort. The library was my absolute favorite as we sipped wine while we waited for dinner which was served amid heat lamps in the amazing courtyard of the Riad. The adjacent patio to our room provided a welcome place to relax as we had a nightcap before bed. The wee morning hours are the only reminders that you are right in the middle of the Médina as you hear prayer calls from the outdoor patio. The service was pleasant and provided by highly courteous staff. We will certainly plan a longer stay here on our next visit.

Simply perfect.

I can't think of a single negative comment to write about Karawan Riad. The room was immense and immaculate, beautifully decorated. The bathroom shower was terrific and the towels, bathrobe, and soaps were comforting. Rooftop was nicely furnished, with a fine view over the city. The riad had more lounges and cozy spaces than I could use during the stay. Staff was always there to be helpful, but never overbearing. Great location, convenient to parking and near Rcif. Breakfast was great, with eggs made to order, freshly baked breads and croissants - and the soup and tajine at dinner was excellent. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.

An absolute dream of a riad

As you might expect, the riad itself was breathtaking. Intricately designed,a with every room, corner, nook, carefully themed and designed with furniture and accents from around the world. It is very clearly the product of well-traveled curators. So if you like attention to detail, Karawan has got it covered.

View of the medina from the rooftop? Clear, unobstructed, and well-positioned-- great to see it during sunset and at the last prayers of day.

Location, right at the edge of the medina so it's barely a 5 minute walk from the road to the riad. So if you want something with easy access, not in the deepest part of the medina, but still within it, this is a good option.

Food. I seriously don't even have to say anything other than it is so. so. delicious. And thank you for indulging us in endless coffees, freshly squeezed orange juices, breads, etc for breakfast. And that wonderful Mediterranean dinner on our last night-- please give our regards to the Chef!

Last and definitely not the least, the wonderful staff. The people really make or break a place, and I'm happy to share that they definitely made our trip as unforgettable as it was. Otmane, the manager, was responsive, patient, accommodating, kind-- from the first email inquiry to our last step out the door. Nourdin, the in house chauffeur, is excellent. Most of the time we spent on the road, from our pick up from Marrakech to Fes, then a day trip to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, and Meknes, then to the airport (basically everywhere), where with him behind the wheels and we always felt safe and comfortable. Shakib, a trusted freelance tour guide, was amazing!! Brought us to the best shops (regrettably for my wallet), but more importantly, vividly shared their culture and history. And everyone at the riad who took care of us (forgive my poor memory with names!), a heartfelt thank you for your openness and kindness!
