Wonderful road with fantastic staff. The rooms are beautiful with private terraces, the rooftop gives you breathtaking views of Fes. Very upscale with an excellent chef Otmane, servers Nada and Omare are superb at their jobs, very friendly and Brahim at the front dest is professional and accommodating and warm. I would highly suggest this riad when visiting Fes.

Karawan Riad is a beautifully restored quiet boutique hotel within the Médina
It is a very short walk from where our driver dropped us. The Riad sent a barrow boy to collect our luggage and we followed him into our first taste of the Médina to our Riad
What a peaceful elegant place this is. Our welcome tea was taken in the lobby which is open to the sky. This is a small hotel with about 7 suites. .
All accommodation is on the first level so if you aren’t comfortable climbing stairs to your room then unfortunately this is not the place for you. There is no elevator in the building.
The next level up is the roof terrace with amazing views out over the Médina and beyond
The staff all go above and beyond to make your stay perfect
Another word of warning. There is no alcohol available within the Médina but no problem bringing your own to the Riad. Which we did and they happily provided a cork screw and bucket of ice!
Daily breakfast and the other meals we had there were excellent.
My thanks to the staff for making our time in Fes memorable.

Charming Riad in Medina

My husband and I visited this beautiful Riad for 5 nights and had a lovely time. The Riad is situated in a very accessible location in the medina, close to a taxi stand for nighttime needs. The staff will escort you to the stands and hail you a taxi and escort you back to the Riad after your nighttime dinners. This might be necessary for the first night but it is quite fun to have the experience of taxi hailing on your own, you'll see! Otmane and Ibrahim were wonderful in arranging dinner reservations, day trips, cooking classes and transport to Marrakech. We had an enjoyable cooking class in the courtyard making vegetable tagine and carrying onto the kitchen to make the delicious snake cookies, which we then enjoyed for our lunch. The chef, as well as the staff, were extremely hospitable and cared for our every needs. Our suite, Demani, was beautiful with its own small terrace, and was located on the rooftop which was lovely for evening sunsets. The hammam was a relaxing experience that I would definitely have had again if we had stayed longer. Lastly, we had the pleasure of Noureddine who picked us up in Casablanca and guided us to the Riad as well as accompanying us on our trips to the ramparts of Fes, Meknes/Volubilis, and onto Marrakech. He was knowledgable about history, culture and whatever other questions we entertained. Our stay in Fes was memorable.
