How to Get There
Fantastic hotel in a good location and friendly staff who look after you and nothing is too much trouble for them, offering excellent service. Comfortable well appointed rooms. Good buffet breakfast served in the dining room or on the terrace.
Relaxing bar for pre dinner or after dinner drinks. Stunning views of Sagres Harbour and the many fishing boats. Just a short walk to the fish market is a must and some excellent restaurants in the town.
Third stay at this hotel. Very nice location. Got a lovely big room on the highest floor with nice view over the small harbour. Clean, got a surprise for our wedding anniversary, very attentive of the hotel staff! Lots of choice at breakfast, and the view over the ocean is included :-) However, we slept terrible. The walls are as thin as paper. We heard every single thing our neighbours were doing ... In the middle of the night you just want to sleep. How difficult can it be to respect this?
We had a great time. Our room was huge with a half sea view. The breakfast great- only minus point for not having a fresh juices. Great coctails in the cocktail bar. Small inside swimming pool area. From the hotel you can get to the beach. In the early morning you can enjoy a sunrise on your “privat beach”. Child friendly.
We decided to visit Sagres after hearing good things about the area from a friend and wanting to see the coast. Not having an idea where to stay, we came upon the Memmo Baleeira and decided to stay here. Were we lucky!
Such a wonderful place. A comfortable room with an ocean view, relaxing bed and the best breakfast of any hotel we have stayed in. While I enjoy a coffee in the morning and not much else, this buffet was amazing! You could have anything from bread to eggs and sausage to lox and bagels, champagne to coffee. All with an amazing view of the ocean.
Can't say enough about the property and staff. Price point was right on. No other place to stay in Sagres!
We stayed here for one night at the end of our holiday in Portugal. The hotel has a lovely location over the harbour and has good big rooms, comfortable beds, great (but very busy) breakfast and a nice swimming pool. However our stay was spoilt by being asked for Eur 5 for about 100ml of fresh milk so we could have a cup of tea in our room (we are English!! :-)). I told the guy he could keep his milk and walked 5 mins down the road to the Spar and bought a litre of milk for Eur 0.79. So a 600% mark up! I would have been happy to pay something - it is worth noting this is the only hotel we were asked to pay in a week in Portugal, however sadly my whole attitude to the hotel changed from being excited to be staying there to being annoyed and negative.
So my review can be summed up as do stay there - it is lovely - but expect to pay for the simplest of things.
