Great location

Not easy to find for the first time when you arrive by night, but once you are in it is a marvelous place, excellent to explore the region an come back every evening in a fantastic environnement. Large rooms, very clean, historical passages in the hotel, great parking, beautiful gardens; you find everything to stay comfortable, quiet and happy.

Tranquil setting in old restored palace

Nice clean hotel, friendly helpful staff, good price in November, only negative was that the pool and spa area were closed for maintenance and we were not advised of this until we arrived. The hotel is set in it's own gardens which are lovely, but not a lot of choice of restaurants in the town. The one nearest is the best, the Galeria dos Sentidos

Restored Palace with Lovely Views

This Pousada has been restored beautifully, with elegant gardens and the views from the hilltop are lovely. The breakfasts were very good, taken outside on the terrace, as the weather was very warm. There is an excellent swimming pool with breathtaking views, and a little bar attached, where you can also get snacks. Our room had a garden terrace, with a lovely comfortable bed, but somewhat dark, as it was downstairs. It was very quiet at night. The extravagance of the hotel jars somewhat with the surroundings, as it is situated in what looks to be a very old village. We did find one restaurant with good food there, very near the hotel. We ate once in the hotel restaurant, also outside, as it was my husband's birthday, and the food was excellent. It was a lovely evening, and also very amusing, as there was a wedding going on in the garden, and we watched the guests, getting more and more inebriated as the evening wore on, but far enough from us not to encroach.
The staff were very hardworking and helpful. There are buses from the village going to Faro, but make sure you have a timetable with you, as they are not too frequent!

Large rooms with very comfartable beds. The check in was very efficient. Breakfast very good. Beautiful garden and nice swimmingpool area as well as the spa. The hotel itself, is like beeing in a museum, with extemely nice sitting lounges.

Hilltop location

Well developed historic and interesting property. Beautiful sunsets from the terrace bar. Rooms were modern spacious and comfortable. I rank the hotel as very good, But the food was only 'good' and certainly not excellent. Breakfast was only average.
