How to Get There
Could not get the hyatt on the night so went to the weston. Functional and everything you could need on business trip. Bar and bar food was really nice. There is nothing around to do unless heading into Reston town centre. Problem is you cannot walk, no footpaths and a motorway in the way. They have a shuttle however.
First impression is it is a lovely property. It ends there. The service in the restaurant is spotty at best. The bed had a dip on both side and clearly needed to be replaced. The power outlets in the room next to bed are stupid. The alarm clock is on one side and the power port the other side. I got news, that sucks and it is stupid. Two people in one bed each has power needs. There should be power on both sides.
As for the front desk well, not very helpful. We had a dinner appoint at 6 so at 5:15 we where told the shuttle could take us and at 5:45 no shuttle. They kept saying it will be hear any minute and it wasn’t. As I explained to the clerk. I don’t care what the issue is just give me facts and I will deal with it this “any minute now” wasn’t true and wasn’t helpful. We took Uber and were late. Shuttle never showed.
I will stay somewhere else. As a Marriott premier and am not thrilled with Westin.
Nice quiet location in Reston. Nice design (not too big) and of course the excellent Westin beds and service. Yazi was excellent at the front desk helping me out with some technical issues and resolving the issue. It is people like her that makes me want to continue to stay at Westins in the future.
Good stay. Love the beds and location. Right next to our office. Very friendly staff. Easy on and off the freeway and not to far from Dulles Airport. They have a great place to eat and grab a drink. So glad this is now part of the Marriott family.
We stay here periodically for a "staycation" away from home, and this time did not disappoint. We were able to get an upgraded room (junior suite with king bed) thanks to my Platinum status with Marriott, and very much enjoyed the large room and bathroom, Starbucks coffee in the room, the fitness center (once we figured out what floor it was on--no signs in the elevator!), and Vinifera restaurant for breakfast. Wish we'd been able to go there for a glass of wine too, but we got in late the night we arrived and left mid-afternoon after a late checkout. Also enjoyed the nearby Reston Town Center for shopping and a late lunch at Clyde's. The staff at the hotel were quite gracious and the hotel seemed to be in good shape despite its age. My only quibble was an odd smell to the room (424?) when we arrived; I couldn't tell if it had been cleaned with some sort of chemical to get rid of tobacco smell from a previous guest or something else, but it was off-putting initially. Oh and I also wish the $16 value of the breakfast coupon included coffee for more of the items; $5 for a cup of drip coffee is a bit of a ripoff. Many other Marriott properties have a buffet and juice and coffee are included, but here you have to choose items from the menu. Many are quite appealing, but also rather pricey. I did appreciate the fact that on weekends the breakfast/brunch goes until 1pm, although from 11am-1pm, I think fewer items are available, judging by the menu.
