How to Get There
My family and I stayed her before our trip to Nicaragua, and then again after our trip. The service here is top notch! The shuttle service was the main reason we choose this property, and it did not disappoint. The shuttle driver picked us up at 115AM with a smile on his face. When we got back to the hotel, the front desk clerk was extremely nice and went above and beyond. His name was John Lopes. He was so understanding, as were traveling all day and i could not find my wallet right away.(Probably because my 1 year killed my memory at that point) And even though it was 2 in the morning, he had a warming smile!! Thank you John, and ALL of the Westin staff for a wonderful stay!!! We will be back!!
I always struggle finding a hotel where I can sleep more than one night and not be in agony. I was impressed with the quality of mattress at the Westin. I didn’t wake up with a sore back and pressure point pain. The shower was huge and had a rainfall shower head that had water pressure! There was also an alternative shower head you could use. I let the front desk know about french fries against the bed frame. They had the room recleaned. The buffet breakfast was ultra expensive for what you get and would not pay for it again. For $17 I expected a waffle iron or made to order omelette. Only worth $12 as is. However the service was great in both the restaurant and front desk. There isn’t easy access to restaurants so prepare to have transportation. Parking is in a free garage in back of hotel. You can stream on the tv if you have firestick or comparable device. WiFi worked well. Hotel was quiet even for holiday weekend. Will likely return if the rates remain comparable but will not eat there again.
Arrived late on a Thursday night, shuttle driver picked me up at Dulles airport and drove me to the hotel. Front desk staff quickly looked after my check in. First impressions were good. breakfast in the morning was either buffet or menu.. I chose the buffet and it was good. Restaurant staff looked after me quite well. Spoke for awhile with another shuttle driver who explained to me how to get to downtown without taking and Uber. As helpful as he was I chose the Uber for I had a tight deadline. I was in town at the hotel for a voiceover conference which was excellent. The meeting rooms the food the staff everything went off smoothly. I recommend this hotel.
This was my third stay at this hotel. I was very pleased on the previous two visits, but this stay was absolutely extraordinary. I live 4 hours by car from Dulles Airport, and this hotel is an excellent "staging" hotel for my trips to and from Dulles. On this trip, I stayed at the hotel the night before taking an early morning flight from Dulles the next day. I had an excellent supper at the hotel restaurant the evening of my stay. The food was superb, but much, much better was my conversation with Hussein, who works at the restaurant. Hussein has rich and deep worldly experience, and it was fascinating to learn from him. A deservedly proud father and deeply principled person, it was mind-expanding and simply wonderful to speak with him. After supper, I stopped at the bar for a night cap. There, I had the pleasure to chat with Rabi and Dou, who manage the bar. Between Hussein, Rabi and Dou, I have never in my life had such fascinating conversations about the world, which they have directly experienced in ways that the average person, including myself, never has. I had some serious (in other words, not easy) upcoming international travel to places I had not been to before, and Rabi, in particular, was able to offer me some exceptionally cogent advice. After learning from him, I happen to think that Rabi is a complete genius. Every single thing he told me turned out to be true from my subsequent, direct travel experiences. This is the beauty of travel: learning from those you meet, people who have "been there," "know that" and are such phenomenal reservoirs of knowledge. Thank you Hussein, Rabi and Dou for sharing with me some of what you know. Also, I had one very small issue related to the merger of the Marriott and Starwood programs, and spoke with Valerie, the Front Office manager. She is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life, and she took care of everything with efficiency, cheerfulness and a smile. It doesn't get any better than that! I have become a huge fan of this hotel, and will going back soon prior to another trip from Dulles Airport.
Hotel is fine. Room was clean and well appointed. Staff was helpful. There is a bar, restaurant, and coffee shop inside the hotel which is good because there is nothing around it. You really don't have any other choices unless you want to travel.
Parking is free and the garage is excellent.
My one catch is no lobby coffee for early risers. I know there is a coffee counter and you want to gouge 3 bucks for a cup of coffee but good grief I just paid 179.00 to sleep. How about a cup of coffee in the morning? And the in-room coffee pods are worthless.
