Overview

Modern glamour sitting pretty in historical gardens on the European side of the Bosphorus

The Lowdown

The Ottoman Sultans once gazed out over the Bosphorus from this 497-room hotel’s hilltop location; the modern Swissôtel retains that link to the past with its location on 65-acres of historic gardens that were previously attached to the Dolmabahçe Palace. Contemporary, comfortable interiors come in muted shades and subtle patterns. There’s nothing, in fact, to detract from the views over the water, city or gardens. A 43,055-square-foot spa offers serenity seekers mud baths and a traditional hammam. Eating options include French chef William Mahi’s Gaja Roof, which serves seafood and grilled meats on a terrace hotspot.

In the Area

The popular neighborhood of Ortaköy in the district of Beşiktaş is a central spot on the European side of the Bosphorus where travelers and locals congregate in the galleries, restaurants and bars that line its cobbled streets. On Sundays there’s an open-air arts and crafts market that will fulfill most of your souvenir needs. Get your history fix at the waterside Ortaköy Mosque, as well as the Dolmabahçe and Topkapı palaces. The iconic city highlights of Süleymaniye Mosque and Hagia Sophia are also easily accessible.

We had a great stay in Swissotel. Everything was perfect: great welcoming team, very comfortable rooms, good hangout in lobby with great tea and a great variety on the breakfast buffet! Emrah served us very well! We will definitely come back again!

Excellent service

I often visit Istanbul on business but have not stayed at this hotel for some time. That was a mistake I will rectify on future visits.

Rooms very comfortable, great beds and Linen as you would expect from this brand. Breakfast was excellent.

The thing that really sets this hotel above the competition is the service. All of the staff go above and beyond to deliver the best possible service. A special mention to Serhat Boztemir on reception who was friendly as well as efficient and professional. Thank you Swissôtel for a very comfortable stay. I will be back very soon.
