Overview

Modern glamour sitting pretty in historical gardens on the European side of the Bosphorus

The Lowdown

The Ottoman Sultans once gazed out over the Bosphorus from this 497-room hotel’s hilltop location; the modern Swissôtel retains that link to the past with its location on 65-acres of historic gardens that were previously attached to the Dolmabahçe Palace. Contemporary, comfortable interiors come in muted shades and subtle patterns. There’s nothing, in fact, to detract from the views over the water, city or gardens. A 43,055-square-foot spa offers serenity seekers mud baths and a traditional hammam. Eating options include French chef William Mahi’s Gaja Roof, which serves seafood and grilled meats on a terrace hotspot.

In the Area

The popular neighborhood of Ortaköy in the district of Beşiktaş is a central spot on the European side of the Bosphorus where travelers and locals congregate in the galleries, restaurants and bars that line its cobbled streets. On Sundays there’s an open-air arts and crafts market that will fulfill most of your souvenir needs. Get your history fix at the waterside Ortaköy Mosque, as well as the Dolmabahçe and Topkapı palaces. The iconic city highlights of Süleymaniye Mosque and Hagia Sophia are also easily accessible.

Great service and great view. All you would expect from a high end hotel in terms of facilities and room extras.

The best is the rooftop bar which overlooks the Bosphorus. Great at night.

Tend to return as a result

Istanbul at its best

This is my second time at this hotel and I have not been disappointed. Service is exquisite, staff always smiling and ready to do their best.
My room (with a view on the Bosphorus) was big and elegant. Bathroom with separated WC and shower and great amenities.
The SPA is incredible: Sauna, Steam room, Hamman and resting room. All lockers are equipped with a bathrobe and sandals. I had a scrub treatment in the Hamman and it was just perfect.
External and internal pools are very nice.
Now I just want to go back.

We had a pleasure to spend a few nights in their top floor, corner loft room and I must say everything about the place was just breath taking (look at my photos attached!). View over the Bosphorus so you can enjoy the view of the Asia while still in Europe! 😍And the best thing is, the same view is from pretty much everywhere in the apartment (including bed and bathtub!😉). Bedroom very modern& with the most comfy bed ever. Living room very bright and with both sofa and armchairs plus desk. Separate dining table in a dining section (!) And fridge full of best wines and champagne. Toilet downstairs but also upstairs, shower cabin in the bathroom was massive! Good quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body balm so you can reduce your luggage even if you are demanding customer 😉 on our first night we got a bottle of red wine and board of delicious sweet treats as a welcome gift which was nice.
If you have access to the lounge on the 15 th floor don't bother eating breakfast in the main restaurant- lounge is opened 1 hr longer and has much better view and service!
Roof top restaurant and bar is great! Good food, music, view and atmosphere. Big thanks to the floor manager from 5.06 (Harkan?) for super care amd attention!
Amazing SPA facilities with great massages (ask for Liza - Philipino therapist. She is very experienced!😍).
Last but not least hotel has a wonderful concierge who's name I can't recall at the moment but he was extremely helpful on a various occasions (I guess thats what makes a hotel the hotel- concierge of this level!🤗).
Separate adults poll is a big plus!
Extra security level - at the hotel entrance you need to scan your luggage.
Great experience and we will surely come back!

Worth it

I usually don’t stay at this price point of a hotel. But my boyfriend was a bit worried about security as the US likes to scare folks into thinking every place is dangerous. So we stayed here for his piece of mind. The hotel and service were exceptional. The bed was so nice it was hard to get out of it. All the services, from the pool to the spa were amazing. The rooftop restaurant was delicious and the view was beautiful. Breakfast every day was over the top and there wasn’t anything missing from the menu. And the outside terrace where you ate was great. If you can afford to splurge, this is worth it!
