The Balearic isle of Mallorca in the Med makes for a holiday treat all year round, with a balmy climate, glittering seas, soft sandy beaches and the easy-going nature of the locals blending a cocktail of pure pleasure from start to finish. Stay in the dazzling modern-meets-retro OD Port Portals hotel, near the swanky Puerto Portals yachting marina, and you can add a host of top-notch bars, restaurants and boutiques into the mix.
Mingle with the jet set or simply retreat to the tranquil surrounds of the hotel, the work of renowned designers Victor Rahola Aguadé and Mayte Matutes. With its Mondrianesque facade, hand-picked designer furniture and quirky sculptures, the retro-style lobby could have stepped from the pages of a glossy interiors magazine.
Enjoy a lazy breakfast on the terrace until midday, take a dip in the small but perfectly formed pool, loll on a day bed, work out in the gym or book a massage. Later, ascend to the aptly named SkyBar for a sundowner on the roof terrace, complete with fabulous views. It will come as little surprise to learn OD Port Portals boasts a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Please do not be put off by any of the below reviews. Yes it’s next to a main road, but aren’t most hotels. It doesn’t make any difference, you can’t hear anything from the rooms. We will definitely be returning and would like to try the other OD hotels.
We stayed here for a couple of nights. The hotel is very clean and modern. The staff were excellent - all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, a reasonable buffet selection and you can order your cooked breakfast - which comes through quite quickly. The pool area is smart and clean. The rooms are well designed with good storage space. They were a little small but well planned out. The toilet is in the bedroom with a sliding glass door - so not very private. The shower was good with a window out to the sea, people can see you showering but the window is high and small so only the top half is exposed. There is no kettle or tea/coffee making facility in the room. The hotel is great for a short stay. It’s clientelle are mainly young 30s age group, which is who they target - there is a roof top bar and roof party every Friday and Saturday. The only negative is the noise of the traffic. The hotel is located beside the main road onto the motorway so there is constant traffic. This makes the pool area noisy and can sometimes be heard in the rooms (we were on the 4th floor). You tend to switch off from it in the rooms but it does spoil what is a great pool area. But location is excellent for the port portals bars and restaurants - a 5 minute walk down hill and only 15 minutes from Palma. I would recommend the hotel and would stay again - the room rates are reasonable and there are enough plus points to make putting up with the traffic noise acceptable. It wins on location, price and friendliness of the staff.
This is a good hotel for a short break, within easy walking distance to the Port, the village and Palm Nova and by taxi to Palma.
It is located next to a busy road so there is some traffic noise and has a small pool area, though we always found sunbeds to relax. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked if required.
We originally booked a standard room but there was very little wardrobe space for dresses etc., and it was a little small. We upgraded to a deluxe room which had a view to the port and a lot more space.
We went in early May and the roof bar wasn't open so it was very quiet.
Staff were freindly and helpful
Visited this hotel with my tennis team to play tennis at the sporting club in portals.
The hotel is very very loud, they are playing load music almost all night long. Called front desk 6 times in the middle of the night. No help. Rooms are very loud as well. You hear people from above and next to you left and right.
On weekends staff refuses to serve regular breakfast although you are entitled to receive breakfast items from the menu.
Looks like the people in the kitchen don’t work on weekends so they tell you to eat cold food from the buffet.
Front desk staff is extremely arrogant. Don’t want to help at all.
Sorry to say but there was not even one good thing to talk about.
Room rates are totally overpriced for what you are getting.
If you ask me: stay away if you want to have a great time on Mallorca.
I have tested 14 hotels on the Island. This one is by far the worst experience.
The hotel is on a roundabout so there is a lot of road noise, especially if trying to relax by the pool. That said the walk to the Port is about 5 to 10 minutes and the walk into Portals Nous village is about 10 minutes. We had a Junior Suite which was very nice, although the balcony was tiny, but we had a Smart Car included in the room price so we went off to see Alcudia & Puerta Pollensa. The hotel staff were all very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was Ok.
The port area has very "posh" restaurants and designer shops. The village has some great restaurants and bars with the only slight downside is that they are not within a view of the sea.
