If you like a bit of exploration, then Alicante is the part of Spain for you. This gorgeous destination has a quaint old town of whitewashed houses, a medieval castle built on a mountain and some of the best beaches on the east coast. The four-star Hotel Bonalba Alicante is located only a short distance from famous San Juan beach and the city center, making it perfect for a balanced break of sandy strolls and Spanish culture.
Surrounded by an 18-hole golf course, this TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner allows you to spend days on end practicing your winning swing and perfecting your par. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can head back to the hotel restaurant. After you’ve filled up on local dishes, you can finish up with cocktails at the pool bar – who said you had to be outside the hotel to keep exploring?

The spacious and bright rooms are built for a comfortable stay and a fabulous night’s sleep. You can enjoy views of the golf course and sparkling swimming-pool area in yours.

Gear your taste buds up for a smorgasbord of local and international cuisine at the hotel’s two restaurants. Pop into Restaurante Amapola for a romantic atmosphere or Restaurante Cervantes if you want your meal with a pool and lush-garden backdrop. For the cocktail connoisseurs, there’s a poolside bar and an English style pub for evening drinks.

In addition to being able to lounge in the indoor and outdoor pools, you’ll have the option to find pure bliss at the hotel’s spa. Featuring a spa tub, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms with massages, facials and body therapies, the spa will leave you feeling revitalized from head to toe.

You’ll be near the lovely Campello Beach and the sun-soaked city of Alicante. This capital is bustling with fabulous beaches, buzzing nightlife and a quaint old quarter. Visit the Castillo de Santa Barbara, which looks down over the Barrio Santa Cruz, a charming little warren of whitewashed streets. This area is the very center of this city’s nightlife, which is bursting with hip clubs and hole-in-the-wall bars. During the day, why not spend some time visiting the Canelobre Caves and Albufereta Beach?

Great Hotel and great experience for the price, recommended

The facilities and the hotel in general are great, the staff (in special Miguel) are very nice and helpful.
We've spent a very nice time playing with Miguel (one of the hotel's animators) and we had a lot of fun painting and playing with other stuff that he provided to us. The SPA was great, we enjoyed for 45 minutes for free with our daughter, courtesy that the hotel provides to the customers from 3PM to 3:45PM.
The parking available is very good and comfortable, we can easily park our car inside the hotel and take the lift to the reception. The parking has a extra cost of 10 euros per night.
The room is good, but in my opinion the TV's are a bit outdated and too small. Maybe this could be also something to improve.
The breakfast was good with variety, nothing to complain in this sense.
The check-in was fast and easy.
It has a huge swimming pool in the exterior, I do believe that in summer should be great and enjoyable.
There are restaurants nearby, in case we want to have lunch or dinner outside of the hotel for some reason.

Great for a golf tour

We had a 5-day golfing holiday in this wonderful hotel. All the staff were very helpful from the reception to the cleaners and bar staff. The rooms are spacious with tea & coffee on tap.
Breakfast was a plentiful continental as well cooked if you require.
Both golf courses, Bonalba just up the road and the Alenda course 20 mins away were in top form and although it threw it down on the second day it didn’t dampen our spirits.
The hotel itself is a 15 min drive from the centre of Alicante but just up the road there are a few restaurants and bars. I thoroughly recommend the La Perla restaurant with excellent food and service, be aware that it closes on Wednesdays and it’s pertinent to book rather than just turn up because of its popularity. Another good bar is the Green 19 for all the sports, the landlord even lets you buy an Italian next door and bring it in to eat in his establishment.
A superb golfing venue that’s fairly quiet, we will be back.

Lovely and lively

Stayed just fir the night. Had lovely large room. Enjoyed the more expensive gastro dinner which was lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast selection. And nice to find the hotel busy in a month many are so quiet. Good facilities. Used Spa. Just take your own flip flops and cap if you have them. Both are compulsory and u will have to buy them if u don’t have them.
But enjoyed our stay. Had a great game of golf next morning to finish off a perfect stay

Fairly average

We were lucky that we were given a room at the back of the hotel with a good view and comfortable temperature. Some of the other members of our golf party were at the front and their room was hot and the air con was useless and the staff who looked at it, equally so. There were 2 single beds which were reasonably comfortable and good shower gel and shampoo.

The hotel was located on a decent golf course but there was nothing for the non playing members to do.

Food in the buffet restaurant was, on the whole, lukewarm and they had trouble refilling dishes that had expired. Far from satisfactory.

The pool area was very attractive.

Really poor for 4*

We booked the hotel last minute due to a cancellation. We were offered a golf and spa package for 3 nights at €450 for 2. The hotel on arrival is run down and the reception staff unfriendly. The morning of the golf we were told we couldn't play as needed full handicap certificates. We'd stayed at the celtic Manor (ryders Cup 4* Hotel) earlier that month without the same requirements. Back at the hotel they said we couldn't get a refund it's our fault.
We booked the hotel specifically for this as there were cheaper better hotels in alicante so were rather disappointed, made worse by the hotel reception staff. As for the rest of the hotel, breakfast was always half full, the chefs are lazy but the wait staff good. The supper is terrible and limited for 'buffet' and definitely not worth €22 each. I do not recommend this hotel, especially if you're not playing golf, there is not much else to do in the area and the taxi drivers charge you (€10) for picking you up before you even step into the cab!
