How to Get There
Honestly, the one point is just for the staff., friendly and young people who tried to keep the “Contenance” and prepared at least a good breakfast. The Hotel is not even a one star! It’s a ruin of something planned to be a niece Hotel and all went wrong. Our room, we booked it very short before, was a disaster. We had a water damage with a good change of mold fungus, air conditioning was not working, the room had a controller panel system but we got a key to open, mini bar was empty, restaurant closed, the facilities mentioned in the Hotel description on the roof top where never ever running - maybe for a promotion video. The whole Hotel is a disaster and I won’t believe they are able to fix al the issues. Better demolish and build it new. Sorry, but don’t go there.
The GPS map to our hotel takes us down a rather sketchy road in the middle of nowhere. Thinking ourselves possibly lost, we see the sign - Enigma. Yes, it is. Every room a view where you relax literally to the sounds of nature. This is a spa hotel. They received us a bit early. The room was lovely and balcony had lots of privacy. It was big and very comfortable. The outdoor pool was nice to relax with a view, but too cool to take a dip. We did not take advantage of the spa. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained. The restaurant opened late every time. There always seemed to be a few flies buzzing around. I thought it a little odd that for such a quiet retreat, there were a couple of families with children that were going wild in the restaurant. It took the staff a while to get everything out to serve at the breakfast buffet. It was good enough though. The evening meal was ok. The service in the restaurant was very slow. We only stayed a night as we were passing through the area. I would probably explore other options, even though this one was good enough.
This hotel has a long way to go to be close to a 4 star luxury hotel. The facilities are not well maintained and the breakfast is ok if you don’t want to eat egg, bacon or sausages. This option is very poor quality. This hotel would be ok for a one or two night stay but a week is too long here. I would not go back.
Very modern hotel with pleasant views and massive grounds with cycle paths and free cycle hire. The room and breakfast were excellent. Bed extremely comfortable and great shower. However the spa area was dreadful. The indoor pool was very hot and dirty, the steam room had large fungus on the ceiling ( don’t want to breathe spores),the jacuzzi was very high in chlorine and no one could stay in it long as our eyes were streaming and we were coughing. These were reported before but possibly the owners don’t read the reviews. A shame, I would come back if the price is right!
Spent 4 nights at this very comfortable and quiet hotel. Breakfasts very excellent, we had one evening meal which was reasonably priced but could have been better. The only real disappointment was the Spa, the tiles around the indoor pool were covered with sun tan lotion which was tacky to say the least. The Jacuzzi had much too much chlorine, we could not stay in there for more than a few minutes, the steam room had fungus growing on the ceiling, which could cause breathing problems, you could smell the chlorine in the lift that's how strong it was. I little more maintenance would not go amiss
as several places could do with a little TLC. I hope the management read and act on this as some of the other people have made the same comments. Having said that we will be back, if we are allowed......
