The spa resort of Igalo, in Montenegro, has long been favoured by those in the know seeking to benefit from the legendary curative powers of its natural minerals and mud. They’re also attracted by the balmy year-round climate, oodles of sunny days and warm, shallow waters. Palmon Bay Hotel and Spa is a shiny addition to the resort’s hotel scene. Making a bold, modern statement on the seafront, its shimmering reflective glass soaks up the mesmerising vista of Boka Kotorska Bay at every turn.
The hotel is a short stroll away from the sea, where you find an exclusive private beach where you can lounge about on a sunbed on the pebbles or terrace (accessible from May 2016). Make sure you wallow in the calm water too and on chillier days, there’s a perfectly inviting indoor swimming pool back at the hotel, alongside a spa. Elsewhere you’ll find three restaurants and two bars, one with a terrace with spectacular views across the water.
How to Get There
how far is the strip from the hotel to eat out and local bars with entertainment. We are 2 couples and the one has lost a leg so it is important that we find this out as no one mentions any nearby activities
Don't waste your money upgrading to a side sea view as you will have to lean off the balcony to glimpse it. The basic rooms are tiny and they gave me dairy after I told them I am allergic. Plus side, the rest of the hotel is really nice, as are the staff.
Absolutely loved this hotel, couldnt say a bad word about it. The food, drinks and service was always to the best standard. The room was large, roomy and cleaned daily. The pool area was kept clean, drinks offered around the pool very often. Perfect hotel for a couple or family.
Besides touring Montenegro, we wanted to visit Dubrovnik, and Palmon Bay turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel has very nice services, including an excellent and generous breakfast buffet, a lovely spa, and a private beach. In general it is in a lovely location on the Bay, near the promenade in Igalo, a quiet town north of Herzog Novi. The room with the sea view was a bit smaller than we would have liked, but on the other hand, it was comfortable and clean. The staff is lovely, and we can warmly recommend the hotel for travelers who want peace and quiet after a long day touring,
This hotel is perfect.
Rooms are clean and modern, bed is comfortable and toiletries are kept well topped up.
The grounds are well kept, the location is perfect, just a short walk to beach, the scenery is stunning the staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself I would give 5stars.
It’s a real shame because I feel the food really lets the hotel down.
Thankfully we were only on a bed and breakfast basis, there are plenty of good, reasonably priced eating places in walking distance just outside the hotel.
Breakfast was a difficult experience.
Firstly most of the hot food I tried was cold, and absolutely swimming in grease.
Among the hot breakfast vegetables were Brussels sprouts (I kid you not)sweet corn and courgettes covered in garlic.
There were red peppers cooked with onions and chips .
All the above perfectly acceptable if served hot, for lunch/dinner, but not breakfast.
There were daily trays of prepared omelette, swimming in a layer of oil.
If you have to eat low fat options then you would really struggle finding any suitable hot food.
Cereals limited to what I call junk breakfast,
They have trays of cold meats that are not refrigerated so are room temperature.
For me a complete breakfast nightmare.
The food I would rate just 2stars
My advice to hotel manager
Do something about the food, it’s really letting your hotel down.
