The spa resort of Igalo, in Montenegro, has long been favoured by those in the know seeking to benefit from the legendary curative powers of its natural minerals and mud. They’re also attracted by the balmy year-round climate, oodles of sunny days and warm, shallow waters. Palmon Bay Hotel and Spa is a shiny addition to the resort’s hotel scene. Making a bold, modern statement on the seafront, its shimmering reflective glass soaks up the mesmerising vista of Boka Kotorska Bay at every turn.
The hotel is a short stroll away from the sea, where you find an exclusive private beach where you can lounge about on a sunbed on the pebbles or terrace (accessible from May 2016). Make sure you wallow in the calm water too and on chillier days, there’s a perfectly inviting indoor swimming pool back at the hotel, alongside a spa. Elsewhere you’ll find three restaurants and two bars, one with a terrace with spectacular views across the water.
How to Get There
This is a lovely clean modern hotel, We stayed in room 411 which had a queen sized very comfortable bed, This room was spacious with the most amazing views from the balcony. The air conditioning didn't seem as cool as other hotels that i have previously stayed in but it was adequate. The food was good and plentiful, similar to the type of food you get in all inclusive holiday packages. The cleaning staff work very hard at keeping all areas of this hotel very clean. The swimming pool is of a good size, what i didn`t realise is that you have to cross a small thoroughfare/road to reach the pool and sea area but this wasn`t a real problem. The man made beach i found quite disappointing. Around the outside of the pool there were concrete platforms to sunbath on and ladders into the sea and gravel on the beach area itself. The pool water and sea water were both on the cool side but ok once you got in. The down side of staying at this hotel is La Bamba beach / nightclub. This place is about 1/4 of a mile away yet come 10pm ish they start playing VERY loud rave type music with strobe lights etc which spoils the relaxed feeling of this lovely hotel. Why everybody should have to suffer the noise from this place night after night until approximately 1.30 am i dont know, something needs doing about this inconsiderate place as it spoils other peoples holidays experience , it also runs a boat up and down the bay a couple of times a day with a VERY loud speaker playing VERY loud music advertising its La Bamba nightclub. This is not the hotels fault, its in a great location if you like to explore. One thing you need to be aware of is that on leaving the hotel you are required to pay a tourist tax. We payed 42 euros for a family of 4 for a week.
Wonderful hotel, wonderful location, wonderful staff, wonderful facilities. What more can I say? I am in my 70s and stayed with my 20year old granddaughter from 4th. to 14th. July. We both couldn’t and still can’t quite express how impressed we were with this hotel. Thank you all for our amazing holiday!
Beautiful hotel. Spotlessly clean, great food, excellent staff & fantastic pool area. Roof top restaurant had fabulous views over the bay. Beautiful bay area just beyond the swimming pool. Would highly recommend.
