Very special

Only stayed here for one night as we were going to watch Michael Mcintyre at the MFCC. The hotel is well placed to use the facilities around this area including the National stadium and Ta Qali craft village. From the moment we walked in the service was amazing, whilst we were checking in we were given a glass of cold orange juice. The staff from Tamara at reception to the cleaners were all friendly, helpful and efficient. We had problems with my husbands card so I paid and I joked about paying for my own birtday treat. When we returned to our room after a walk around the nearby gardens a card, wine, sweets and biscuits had been left for me. It had only been a passing comment so I was extremely surprised by such a thoughtful gesture. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special treat and it certainly deserves it's 5 star rating. The only problem could be the lack of on site parking but Tamara did advise us about the nearby parking and even advised that a valet would take our keys and park the car if needed. The hotel runs shuttle buses to Valletta, which would be very useful as it is difficult to park and the roads around Valletta are really busy. We did not eat at the hotel as we were out in the evening and decided to have breakfast on our way home so I am unable you comment on the food.

First class

We spent two weeks at the above hotel and would give it 6* first class hotel though out. Staff very friendly & helpful throughout. Our stay was B&B, room very comfy, clean and full of everything you needed, carpets throughout the hotel, free high speed WiFi, two free water bottles daily, large bathroom & balcony, three floors, one large lift, two outside pools one indoor pool, Jym, Spa, three restaurants, very comfy reception area, free courtesy bus to the main towns daily. The only down side we found there are no restaurants nearby for eating out.
The local bus service is not to good to get to the main towns eg
Valletta you have to use the airport bus and change in Rabat a hire car would help to get around the island as there lots to see and do. As the president Palace is just across the road and his gardens are free to enter and well worth a look with plants & trees from around the world water features and loads of birds witch are very friendly.

Jewel in the Heart of Attard

Our 3rd stay at this hotel, and we weren't disappointed. The new concept of the executive lounge made our stay that much better. We enjoyed the handy snacks and wine in the evening as well as occasional afternoon tea, and the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff made it a pleasant experience. Not much variety with snacks but after a month I guess we had tried everything. Enjoyed the Valentine's dinner in The Villa, as well as the Sunday lunch, which was more like a feast. Thanks to Jennifer for showing us the menu beforehand which convinced us to book a table. Our room was always cleaned to a high standard and at a convenient and unimposing time to us, mainly by Dragana who deserves a special mention. The gym was the best I have experienced on holiday, with top class equipment. (I should have used it a few more times and might have gained less weight). Jacuzzi was relaxing and I look forward to the completion of the spa for a future visit. Once again we had a lovely holiday at the Corinthia. And I would like to thank every member of staff, from the cleaner, mini bus driver, concierge , restaurant staff right up to management, for making our stay a pleasurable experience.

Bang up to date 'old world charm'
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We like to have all the modern convenience and luxury when we travel but want to stay in an environment where we feel some old world charm. Having had such a stop with Corinthia Hotels in Lisbon last year we opted for Corinthia Palace for our first visit to Malta. It turned out to be the hotel that founded the chain. A delightfully extended original stone Villa, the hotel chain's secret became obvious: teamwork. Wifi, great food, superb swiming pool are nothing without the right attitude. The staff were efficient, you expect that but they also exuded happiness and they shared that happiness with each other and with us. When I asked a couple of staff what made this so, they told me about the great Human Resources manager and how unlike other hotels they had worked in there were regular all-staff meetings and wellness courses. And it didn't matter if you were a cleaner, pool staff, kitchen workers or management they said they all had a say. Fabulous.
