lovely stay
Reviewed 3 days ago

we stayed at the corinthia hotel for 4 nights only but a lovely stay it was. really near to the centre of malta it is onky about a 20 minute drive for the airport. breakfast was excellent with good choice, bed was large and mega comfy and the room had plenty of space too. the pool was nice and the staff we super friendly. we went to the cocktail bar a couple times and it was nice but so quiet with very little atmosphere. managed to get parked in the hotel grounds most days but if not there is a public car park over the road anyways. the old walled city of mdina is a close drive so we went there a couple nights for dinner. the hotel does operate a free shuttle to valetta and st julians but you have to book it the day before and timings can be restrictive. this was a great fancy hotel good for peace and quiet the only downside is it is in the middle of the island with not much going on and nothing much you can walk to.

Amazing Hotel, Loved it!

Just wanted to give my thumbs up for this hotel. Very nice design for the whole hotel and rooms. Gyms are important to me, and this hotel had top quality fitness centre!
We had breakfast, lunch on terrace, dinner at Rickshaw and room service and all was just delicious! This combined with super service minded staff made us really to enjoy our stay at the hotel! :)

Incredible 5 star hotel in the heart of Malta

I stayed at Corinthia Palace and spa hotel before many years ago and gave it a very mixed review. But knowing the hotel have undergone huge refurbishment made it a perfect weekend get-away for my family and me.

We booked a Palace Suite, which includes access to Executive Lounge for the whole family, and looked forward to our mini holiday.

Check-in was quick and effortless. And we were shown to The Verdala Suite, a beautiful, sophisticated and tastefully decorated classic suite with 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, dining and lounge area and huge balconies.
Despise the room being classical, USB adapters in the outlets, make it easy to charge your phone. An old classical phone (which works) on the desk gives the room a lovely retro feel.

Pool area and pool bar/restaurant: The Summer Kitchen
The pool area is nice and very clean (which to be honest is one of my biggest issues with pool areas in Malta), there is large kids pool, small baby pool, well integrated into the pool, and very nice big adults pool. The pool bar service is fast, and the food is surprisingly good and we ended eating lunch there 3 days in a row there.

For our first dinner, we decided The Rickshaw restaurant, I'm going to make a separate review from this, but it safe to say, this is some of the best, if not the best Asian food we have had in Malta.

Executive Lounge

We had breakfast and afternoon tea in The Executive Lounge, which was good and they had many healthy options for the breakfast, which normally is very important for us, so there is room for the afternoon tea:) The service is exceptionally good.
And very surprising many dietary options for Vegans, gluten intolerant and without lactose.

The Gym

The Gym has had a huge refurbishment since we were there the first time. It's run by Reflect Gym, but I think this gym is nice and fresher than the Reflect Gym in Sliema. VERY nice - probably one of the best hotel gym we have seen.

We only stayed 2 nights/3 days, but we were refreshed as we had stayed much longer. This is a true 5 star hotel, with everything you will expect from a 5 star hotel., but without being pretentious or snobbish. It's maybe an old lady, but what a classy sophisticated old lady.! We hope to come back soon.

Lovely hotel

This was our second visit. Still the same old fashioned charm. But what makes this hotel so special is the wonderful staff. Genuinely friendly and helpful and just “nice”. Every single one of them. But we were especially impressed by the lad who attended to the pool area. What a hard worker and the pool area and toilets were spotless.
A fabulous holiday.

Wonderful Palace

Great place to stay. Easy to get anywhere as they have courtesy bus to Valletta, Silema & St Julian’s. The local bus is easy & cheap to get around the island (1.50 euros for two hours travel). The staff are wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful. They go out of there way to help, nothing too much trouble. The breakfast is plentiful, all well presented & tasty. Rooms are great size. Cleaned & replenished twice a day. Pool area clean & plenty of sun beds & towels. All public areas are clean & smell delightful. Great holiday not near a beach but never far from one as the island is so small. The area is located just outside the very busy Valletta. Fantastic stay. Thank you to all the staff.
