How to Get There
Fabulous setting , beautiful garden and pool .Nice interior of lobby and sitting rooms.
All in all excellent BUT avoid room 21 adjacent to the kitchen . Noisy until midnight and refrom 7 a.m. At least one should be informed by the direction of the inconvenience.
The rooms are clean and beautifully presented. My wife always says hotel rooms are designed by men: little thought to where they do their make up and the necessary lighting. Same for hair drying. This meant she was standing and using the mirror in the bathroom for both activities.
Alex described herself as someone who could lend a hand to many things in the hotel. She was charming and a lovely person to have on duty looking after guests. Nothing was too much trouble.
Michele is another character worthy of a mention. He welcomed us and made us feel extremely welcome. Very passionate about the masseria and it’s development that took 11 years. His brother is in charge of the restaurant and does a fine job as a host there. They make a great team.
We had dinner but the food was just not up to par regarding quality. Few residents eat there and most use local restaurants. This can be difficult for hotel warranting a chef to prepare dinner. However, the location does mean that there are no restaurants on the doorstep. The right menu and the right chef would attract and keep residents who would happily dine in. Unfortunately not in this case at the moment.
Good pool area well maintained with perfect views over the Masseria’s olive groves. All the staff help to harvest the olives in October.
Would stay again but stick to B&B.
Went there just to eat with my girlfriend and her family at the beginning of august. The place is REALLY beautiful and I do not know about the quality of the bedrooms and the service regarding that, my review is only about the restaurant.
The waiters were very nice but the food was honestly a disaster. Way more expensive than any top notch restaurant in that part of Sicily, bad quality and nothing sicilian/italian about it. My main course was supposed to be three refined meats (the name of the course was very appealing) and it ended up being just badly cooked and tasteless pieces of meat, with no sauce and just three slices of aubergines as a side-dish.
I honestly believe that if they put effort and research in the cooking this place could become a must do, but there is a lot of work to do regarding that matter...
This place is so gorgeous that you can't believe it is for real. Location, elegance of the setting, gorgeous hilltop views are beautifully complemented by the staff: they really go out of their way to make the customers feel like comfortable anticipating all their needs. Not only they provide top class service on site but they also give very helpful and detailed tips about the surroundings. They also prepare a superb breakfast with organic fruits, fresh cakes baked every day, organic honey and jams (produced on site), delicious fresh croissants and much more. I can't wait to go back soon.
We stayed in Masseria Agnello for 4 nights in the family room with a nice view to the sea. The hotel is just great, you have all the confort of a hotel but you are far away from the busy beach/city. The place is very calm and you can really relax. You are close to Valle dei Templi and Scala dei Turci. Dinner on the terrasse of the hotel is outstanding. If you need sth they will make it possible!
