How to Get There
The main benefits for staying at this hotel is the gorgeous view of the Faraglioni rocks from our bedroom balcony, the affordable cost for the location and the complimentary shuttle service to the center of Capri. The property itself is very dated and in desperate need of an upgrade to keep in line with considering itself a 4-Star hotel. The carpet in the guestroom corridors is saggy and proved to be a trip hazard for my travel companion, and the outside stone staircase needs to be illuminated for safe walking in the evening. The customer service above all needs an overhaul more than the appearance of the hotel. The staff in the restaurant is quite rude, and declined one of the women in our party to re-fill her water bottle after we had just paid for our breakfast there because he was 'too busy closing down the buffet.' We also requested the front desk to make a reservation for us at the Verginiello restaurant that was recommended to us...and the lead attendant (a shorter, brunette haired man), assured us it was not necessary- even on a Saturday night. He was wrong- the manager at Verginiello laughed and said that it was too bad we were staying there and gave us free prosecco while we had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated.
The pool and hot tub were a HOT MESS. One staircase on the other side of the pool was blocked off with a pile of dirty pool furniture, so you couldn't use it, and the 'hot' tub, was lukewarm and had a pile of about 40 floating dead bees in the corner that everyone tried to avoid. There is a HUGE bee problem near the pool, they really should put out some natural bee traps to keep guests more comfortable.
All in all-the hotel has a great location at a lower price..and they are riding on that one thing going for them for now. I would stay here as a last option if you are tight on money.
Located by a beautiful cliff this hotel constructed on the slope of a mountain side. The views from here are wonderful with the vast blue expanse against the famous rugged limsetone cliffs. The rooms are cozy and beautiful with all the required amenities. The hotel staff are quite well behaved. It was a great stay for me.
This is a relatively big hotel in Capri and it is well managed with professional staff and service. When we arrived at the port and called the hotel they immediately arranged a car to pick us to the hotel( 5euro per person as found out later). And there is free shuttle bus to the city center until 2AM! Room is not much to say but clean and spacious.
The view from the hotel is amazing and do not miss the sunrise. Breakfast is average and charge for about 12euro per person but it understandable given it is on Capri island.
I asked for a room with a view when booking and got one, of a wall 2 metres from the patio doors (perhaps because my partner had to cancel and single occupants don’t need a view in their eyes?). Marina Picola was picturesque but everything was closed from October, so walked back up to the hotel to eat on first night and was totally ignored for so long I went back to my cave to google info on where to go and how to get there... taxi (€15 to nearest town + large tip for saving me). Tried to use the kettle provided and as I struggled to find a socket to match the plug in the twilight of my cave, managed to spill the contents over my charging phone and cut my leg. The plug fits no sockets in the room 😄. Oh, and the tiny analogue tv is pretty much for show as well, but who needs tv when your room has such an amazing view. Oh that’s right!...
Stayed here for 3 Nights.
From the pick up from the harbour to dropping us back off all the staff were very accommodating, ( I will review the restaurant in other review as things were not so good their).
The room had, had everything we needed along with a stunning view of the sea, how nice to wake and draw the curtains to see the views. The bed was so comfy it insured a good nights sleep.
The free shuttle in to Capri is a very nice touch.
