How to Get There
From start to finish they were amazing. They were so prepared to help us with every little detail we almost felt bad doing anything on our own. Georgia and the whole staff answered any question or fulfilled any request we had within minutes.
The rooms were clean, grear views and very reasonable prices from the mini bar.
I really dont have one bad thing to say about this place!
What a place! Similar to all of the other reviews, our experience was amazing. The property has spectacular views to both sides of the caldera, and is set comfortably away from the towns so it is far less busy. We were very happy being away from the crowds but close enough to go into town for dinner.
The rooms were well appointed and nice, nothing luxurious but comfortable. The bathroom was updated. The pool area and restaurant were perfect — not too formal and with that spectacular view (see picture). The spa was underwhelming in terms of amenities but we had great service and the prices were fair.
The last item was the customer service. This is truly want sets the Santorini Princess apart from the other boutique hotels we have stayed at on other Greek islands and across the world — the staff are amazing! From check-in to check-out they treat you like family, help with anything you need, and are so genuine and sweet. Georgia in particular was amazing... I would hire her for immediately for any customer service role. She went above and beyond and made our stay memorable. We also appreciated Romina’s help and enjoyed chatting with Sofia.
If you are looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway, look no further than the Santorini Princess.
This hotel is the best i have stayed anywhere in the world. The staff are wonderful. The complex is clean and comfortable but has may steps so not good if you have limited mobility. The breakfasts there is excellent choice for all tastes, from cereal to croissants, bacon, eggs cooked by a chef to your personal preference. Dimitri is in charge of the restaurant and guides you through the many options. All the staff are dressed in white and seem to appear like angels whenever you need them. you leave a glass, plate, ashtray on your balcony and as if by magic the next time you look it has been cleared away. The rooms every day were spotlessly cleaned. The reception staff ... nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble for them. they are efficient, knowledgable of the island and always smiling. The general manager Mr Vasilis is polite and always on hand asking if everything is OK. Can I fault this hotel, no not at all.
Special mentions to Georgia, Romina, Stephanie, Vicky and Christa and to double trouble the two Sofia's who negotiate the many steps with huge trays of food and drink and are forever smiling. Please go and experience this wonderful hotel for yourselves. PS the sunsets are spectacular too!
How to begin? Since when do grown ups cry when they leave a hotel? Well, if that place happens to be the Santorini Princess, then it all makes sense. At least it did to me. My husband and I arrived for a two day stay before meeting friends on a different island. I literally lost my breath when our lovely driver Danny took a sharp left from a mountainous road from the airport onto the property, and there it was. The postcard but 100 times more beautiful. This uber fabulous, intimate property is perched on the rim of the volcano (the Caldera). All you see is a stunning blend of soul satisfying blue water nestled against breathtaking volcanic cliffs. But forget all of this. Because when you look in the eyes of Georgia Vardoulaki, your life will forever change. Georgia greeted us as we arrived. And within 30 seconds, we were hugging. To say she (and the rest of the staff) were the most genuinely lovely and caring people we've ever encountered at a hotel would not be an understatement. Within 5 minutes, John and I were seated completely by ourselves high up on the edge of this remote property next to a tiny blue-topped church-like structure, glasses of the most delicious sweet, bubbly wine in our hands, feeding each other luscious rich chocolate cake (all welcome gifts from the hotel) watching the sun set behind Oia. A total Eat, Pray, Love moment. Silence. You could hear your breath. The most brilliant pink and orange colors bursting across the sky. In the morning, I went for a run. Sounds boring. But ... hmmm.... what about a run on a gorgeous path carved into the rim of the volcano that's directly in front of your hotel? It was, by far, the most glorious setting I've ever run through. The word "gratitude" kept running through my mind. I could not believe how lucky I was to be at this property, with my husband and this incredible group of people who wanted nothing more than to make every request happen flawlessly. Restaurant recommendations that were astounding? Check! A rental car brought literally do your door in like 10 minutes? Check! Directions to the best hidden spots on Santorini? Check! Luxurious, rich coffee brought to your balcony in the morning without a single noise? Check! A ride to the port to grab the high speed ferry to Mykonos? Check! The Santorini Princess has mastered the holistic formula of the vacationer experience. When we left the property, the tears started to flow. No explanation other than this is just THE place to be. (we've been blessed to travel to many parts of the world and nothing has induced a good cry like the Santorini Princess). You. Must. Go. And when you do, please hug Georgia for us.
We stayed here for 3 nights in early May and could not fault this hotel. From the moment we were picked up at the airport (a very reasonable €25 per couple) and arrived at the hotel we were treated like A mix between VIPs and close family friends. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, genuinely interested in ensuring you have the best possible stay. Georgia and the team at reception were amazing at organising us, making sure we had enough water and sun screen for our hike and giving us excellent recommendations for restaurants each night. Would highly recommend the hotel restaurant too, we ate there on our final night as we had enjoyed all of our breakfasts very much so assumed the evening meals would be comparable but we were wrong, dinner was even better! Large portions of freshly made local Greek dishes, with that gorgeous view over the caldera- what more could you wish for?! This hotel is perfectly placed in the island so that it is easy to get to Fira and oia but has the privacy of not being overlooked as is often the case in those towns. The heated pool is great in the slightly cooler spring months and even though the hotel was at full capacity we never had any problem finding a sun lounger in the pool area. In essence, do not hesitate to book this hotel, you will not regret it!
