Overview

Dramatic cliff top adults-only hideout in Santorini with a 150-year-old wine cave and infinity pool

The Lowdown

An intimate, adults-only escape set high on the cliffs above the island’s caldera, the Mystique Santorini affords jaw-on-the-floor views of the Aegean Sea. Minimalist whitewashed interiors feature organic lines, curved walls, rounded ottomans and driftwood details. The 22 suites start at a roomy 430 square feet and have private balconies with sunbeds and unrivaled panoramic sea vistas. Lounge by the infinity swimming pool with a good book during the day or nurse a cocktail after sunset, when the poolside tables transform into the romantic restaurant Charisma. Don’t want to dine alfresco? The hotel’s charming 150-year-old Secret Wine Cave makes for an equally amorous meal. And when you want to burn some calories, Mystique Santorini has mountain bikes available (you’ll need them to tackle the island’s notoriously steep hills).

In the Area

Oia is all about getting the most out of the seaside setting, so head to black sand Perivolos Beach, where the hotel has private facilities for guests, then admire the red volcanic rock of Amoudi Bay while watching daredevils dive off the cliffs and feasting on just-caught seafood at one of the tavernas, like the family-run Sunset. Another famous sunset perspective to be had is on the walls of the Kastro (Santorini’s old castle), or by taking a horseback expedition along the sand. Drop by the wonderful Atlantis Books to browse, chat with locals and maybe catch an open-air film screening at the store’s annual Caldera Arts & Literature festival.

Perfect honeymoon

We upgraded to a private villa upon arriving and it was the best decision we could’ve made. The wonderful customer service experience we had is unmatched. The staff was so attentive and helpful when suggesting excursions. They even have a private driving service to take you to other parts of the island. The luxury hotel sits on the cliffs of Oia with a quaint town of shops and restaurants within walking distance. I could talk for days about how beautiful our experience was in every aspect but it’s hard to even put in words. You will not regret booking with Mystique.

13th wedding anniversary/ same sex couple

First of all I would like to say that visiting Santorini was always top of my bucket list and a dream of mine and Mystique and their team made it easy for me from the beginning. Months before we got there I was communicating with them via email because I wanted to make sure our anniversary celebration went perfectly. They were very prompt with their responses and answered all of my questions prior to arriving. When my wife and I arrived to the hotel, we were welcomed with open arms and a big smile by Rafail in the main Lobby, he made my wife and I feel like superstars. He showed us around and took us to our beautiful room #23 with private terrace and jacuzzi and the best view. He was amazing with us through our entire stay and made sure every request we had was met, I really can’t say enough about Rafail how amazing he was to my wife and I. Also our room was decorated with flowers and an anniversary cake. Thank you for that!
Our room was closer to the restaurant Charisma where we went every morning to enjoy a la Carte breakfast that was included with our stay. It was amazing to have delicious breakfast every morning with the amazing view. But most importantly was the service that was provided to us by the restaurant staff, specially from two of the servers that were there every day, Konstantina and Era, they both always took care of my wife and I and spoiled us, once again making us feel like royalty. The room service staff was great also. From bringing us dinner and cocktails to our terrace and while we were inside our outside jacuzzi.
This hotel is beautiful and centrally located in Oia, you can easily walk to town and watch the sunsets, but you don’t need to leave the hotel to that, we were able to watch the sunrises and sunsets from our terrace and the service by the staff is beyond amazing! We can’t wait to go back!

Luxurious, quiet and simple, magnificent views

We were planning to stay there only for 1 night but loved our room so much that we ended up staying for 2 nights (we got a lovely SPG upgrade).

The hotel combines luxury with simplicity, which we loved. It also allows you to escape the cruise/tourist insanity in Santorini, just a few steps away (more on these steps later). Even though the hotel is isolated from the noise, you are still very close to all restaurants and shops, if you decide to go out.

Pool did not seem to be heated, but it did not bother us. Rooms have hot tubs, which you can enjoy while having breathtaking views of water and caldera.

Room was great yet very simple. Bedding was wonderful - soft and fluffy.

Room service twice a day. Staff somehow manages to deliver everything super efficiently yet being invisible.

Great breakfast selection a la carte. Also lovely Cocktail session that they have for guests (I think twice a week).

There is public parking near the hotel (per parking staff, 10 euros/24 hours for Mystique customers). Hotel requires walking down/up quite a few steep stairs, which was not a problem for us, but might be an issue for others. You can ask staff to help you with carrying the luggage.

Simply Amazing

Location and service beyond expectations! Antonia ( our friend now ) and our wedding planner had attention to detail that warmed our hearts .... she took time with small details that made a difference and was absolutely Stressfree.... She compiled a lovely team..Dimitra Bratika photographer made us feel special and her knowledge of the property was perfect ..Renia Bledaki makeup made me comfortable and she made me laugh and have fun ...Bella Damigou.. took a picture and made it reality... John kavallaris... our celebrant captured the meaning of our marriage to a tee... thank you all for making our special day even more than imaginable...
Then the lovely note staff ..Maxim at the front desk went above and beyond to make our trip easy ...picking up ferry tickets and arranging our buggy..Kostas at the captains lounge took service to a new level ..Lovely wait staff though out the hotel, just our evening bartender thought it would be better for both us and and him if we are our appetizers at a table...( maybe an unknown rule cause the bar was small)
Beyond our expectations tenfold!
thank you

Unique, stylish and great service. Staff, in particular Alexandra, are fantastic. Highly recommend the wine tasting! Breakfast is delicious. Loved this hotel. Room 6, where we stayed, is below reception and can be a bit noisy.
