Originally designed as a luxury family villa, this 39-room Aegean gem still retains a private club feel, down to the individually decorated rooms, champagne on arrival and interior mix of French antiques and 20th-century design classics. Located on Ornos Bay, recreation here centers around the pool, with its all-day swim-up bar (open until midnight) and adjacent terrace restaurant serving classic Mediterranean dishes. The spa offers a full range of treatments, including a hammam and massages on the hotel’s private beach. And in case you want to kick things up a notch, Kivotos Hotel is also close to Agios Ioannis Beach and party-happy Paradise Beach, so you’ll never be far from the high-octane summer action.
In the Area
If you’re looking for a scene, head to Mykonos’ most notorious beach bar, Super Paradise, where the cocktails, dancing and flirting lasts into the night all summer long. The more sedate-minded might prefer to explore the charming cobblestone streets of the old town, with its iconic windmills, ancient whitewashed churches and the main drag Matoyianni, lined with boutiques and jewelers. Peruse the baubles at Ilias Lalaounis, one-time jeweler to Jackie O, then have a quiet afternoon aperitif at the Astra, before the jetset crowd descend (Keith Richards is said to be a fan.) Back on Ornos, the mid-week “Fresh Fish Barbeque” takes place on the hotel’s private beach: local fishermen spread their nets out with the day’s catch, while waiters bring shot glasses of Mastiha or watermelon to guests poolside.
How to Get There
I wanna leave my Thank you to the Kivotos Concierge Hotel Mr Sylvain CZARNY for all tthe attention, patience and help in choosing and booking my customers Restaurant. They just loved their stay , they ask me to right here because they don’t speak English and say Thank you it’s was Great !
Been back about ten days from out latest pilgrimage to this beautiful jewel amongst the Aegean Sea and have been too depressed at being back home to bring myself to face up to the fact that another year has gone.!!!!
We’ve stayed at the Kivotos pretty much every year since our honeymoon in 2002 returning to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We never remind them yet they never forget and always acknowledge our special day in the most wonderful way.
The Hotel if you’ve never been is an eclectic mix of tradition and contemporary which makes it different to anywhere else you may have stayed. So that should be embraced and acknowledged and not just compared to the interior of new builds that all seem to look the same.
Our stays have varied from 5-14 days over the years.Fourteen on our honeymoon and various lengths of time for our wedding anniversary.
Last year was ten days we pushed the envelope this year and went to twelve and again very quickly realised however long we stayed for us it would never be enough.
The hands on approach from the Family with Mrs Ilektra and Mr Jason setting the standard for the staff to aspire ensures you are made to feel like the most important guest they have ever had.
Christina / Yanis / Christos / Costas - have all been fixtures at the Hotel for a number of years and also lead by example to the the staff who are enjoying their first season at the hotel.
Was a great kitchen team this year and a specialist ‘ Japanese gourmet evening ‘ in the Nobu style under the stars overlooking the bay was one of the stand out evenings of this years trip.
The hotel is ideally located - a five minute drive from the madness that is Mykonos town - which must be experienced and we do so regularly but are always pleased to get back to the sanctuary and calm of the Kivotos.
Looking at dates for 2020 already.
This is my 7th consecutive year in this luxury hotel . In few words every year has exceeded our expectations from accommodation to food to service. I highly recommend Kivotos for your stay . Once you visit once you will want to go back again.
