How to Get There
This hotel has breathtaking views and exceptional service. While we got blind-sided by a $450 charge to use the indoor pool, the prices seems commensurate with he property’s appeal. The proximity to Ia is convenient, but being off the main strip is worth all the quiet time.
I was staying in a related property that recommended the restaurant Anthos. It was a bad experience. My guest was served warm white wine and when he queried that he was told it the correct temperature for this wine! (Not true). My grouper was minuscule, really a joke. I understand small dishes as part of a longer dining experience, but this was a stand alone main course that barely qualifies as an appetiser in a normal restaurant. It was ok, absolutely ordinary, I can cook better myself. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc. After a looooong wait a bottle of chilled Sancerre was presented. Interesting. Then they apologised for the delay because the fridge was out of order so the wine had to be chilled on ice. At that point I gave up. Honesty is always the best policy. Dont serve warm wine and say that is how it should be served when the reality is your fridge is bust. We went back to our hotel and had some proper food, very good! The senior staff at Anthos was aggressive when I objected to the misleading wine story. Avoid.
The Kirini hotel was pure magic. Santorini must be the most magical place on earth. The restaurant was exceptional and the manager Alex was one of the best that we have experienced anywhere! We will be back....
