Perched atop an olive-tree-covered hillside on the stunning Greek island of Zakynthos, and adorned with regal wrought-iron gates, Elegance Luxury Executive Suites matches the beauty of its surroundings with some serious style of its own. Classically inspired architecture is livened up with sleek, contemporary lines at this impressive getaway. It’s hard to believe that anything could come close to the beauty of the Greek Isles, but this resort is certainly giving it a pretty good go.
As the name suggests, the facilities and accommodations at Elegance Luxury Executive Suites are palatial in size and regal in design. Natural materials, like wood and stone, are featured throughout, from the polished floorboards in the rooms to the deck surrounding the beautifully landscaped swimming pool. The extensive list of services includes private massages, beauty treatments and a welcome drink upon arrival, making this the ideal stay for those seeking peace and tranquility. And have we mentioned the resort is just minutes from those gorgeous beaches?
All of the luxurious accommodations are tastefully decorated with elegant, calming décor. Each suite is equipped with a furnished balcony for you to enjoy the sea breeze, and the cherry on top is the private indoor heated Jacuzzi in each suite – perfect for whiling the hours away.Deluxe suites offer 485 square feet of space and partial sea views, while Elegance suites boast 645 square feet and full views of the sea. Presidential suites, meanwhile, are the height of luxury, with even more room for you to enjoy and, of course, those lovely panoramic views.
The Ambrosia restaurant offers gourmet fare in a gorgeous setting, including a bold feature wall with accent wallpaper. The Blue Horizon pool bar serves lunchtime snacks al fresco.
The suites are on the peaceful east coast of the island, near Tragaki village and surrounded by lush olive groves. Here, you’ll have panoramic views down to the deep blue Ionian Sea. The nearby beaches of Bouka and Gaidaros are quiet and sandy, perfect for taking a dip and lounging on the sand. If you’re in the mood for a little more commotion, the tourist resort of Tsilivi is close by, and Zakynthos town is less than five miles away. Private or semi-private cruises and excursions are available through the helpful concierge, as well as private limo tours, diving and snorkeling activities.
How to Get There
A romantic and beautiful hotel in a calm and relaxing area. If you want to relax without noisy tourists, traffic etc this is where you want to stay in Tragaki. Spacious and luxury rooms. The private pool could be heated. The shower should be adjusted with cold/hot water- you either get freezing water or almost boiled while taking a shower 😭. The bed was a huge twinsize and you will definitely sleep like a baby here (a paradox to my previous rewiew of a different hotel in Zakynthos). 😬
The food was ok,once not eatable. A letdown since you have to take a taxi in order to get something to eat. But they did offer to make this trip for you! 👍. But if you stay at this hotel you dont even want to be bothered to go to town for a meal. Its a bit far from all, the beach aswell but you do get a seaview and gorgeous sunsets. The staff was also friendly and serviceminded.
Let’s start with the good. The hotel staff really makes an effort to make you feel welcome and relaxed. We arrived in the morning and were directly invited to join their breakfast service. The breakfast cook is a very friendly man who cooks your egg/pancake to order. The breakfast in general offers broad choice and was a good start of each day.
The pool is the biggest plus of the hotel. It offers comfortable beds, a beautiful view and good service (e.g. complimentary bottled water is bought to you). It was a true pleasure to spend a day at the pool.
The room was fine - comfortable and clean. The eye catcher is the whirlpool. In our room it offered an amazing view of the landscape which makes it a good spot to relax more privately.
So why not 5 stars? There are a couple of small points that the hotel (in our eyes) could improve on. The foremost was an issue with hot water in our room. Upon arrival the hot water pressure was (almost) non existant. When filling the bath it would take up to more than one hour to reach a normal level. Showers in the afternoon were cold. When speaking to the staff they notified us that they were working on it, but we missed a sense of urgency that you’d expect when your guests do not have warm water in their room. After the 3rd day they did offer us to switch to another room (I think they were fully booked before) but as that room was a downgrade we decided to stay. Luckily it was fixed that day and no more issues for the rest of our stay. So our advice to the hotel: things obviously can happen that are outside of your control, but communicating proactively & clearly is an important part of the perceived quality of the resolution.
That said: we had an amazing stay & would like to thank the staff for their hospitality.
Absolutely fabulous time from start to finish! When we first arrived we were made to feel right at home straight away, and were upgraded to a room with a private pool and felt well and truly spoilt and relaxed for the whole of our stay. Stan couldn’t do anything more for you, whether it be remembering our usual coffee orders in the morning and bringing it to our breakfast table within 2 minutes of being there, or giving us towels and water to take with us for our day trips - he was brilliant. Kostas the waiter throughout the day was really lovely and gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and drink in Zante town. Antigoni the girl on reception was extremely smiley and happy and willing to help you with anything. Couldn’t speak more highly of all of the staff. The hotel itself was stunning. The views over the mountains and the sea were breathtaking. The breakfast was amazing and we ordered a few snacks from the bar throughout the day which were also delicious. The hotel is about 15-20 minute walk away from Tsilivi but for us the location was one of the best part about it. Tsilivi itself is a bit ‘tacky’ and it was nice to be away from it all, in what felt like a retreat away from the hustle and bustle. We hired a quad one day and went up north to shipwreck beach and the blue caves which were absolutely beautiful and I would definitely recommend doing. Zakynthos town is a lot more upmarket and smarter bars and restaurants for an evening - and it’s only 15euro taxi ride to get there.
All in all a gorgeous hotel and we absolutely loved our stay here.
Excellent hotel. The staff Kostas and Stamatis go over and above to make the experience so personal. The hotel is lovely and quiet, ideal for couples and always sun beds available around the pool, if anything you'd never think there were many others staying yet it was full when we were there. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, this is ideal with easy access to more if you want it - 20 minutes walk to the beach and local town (Tsivili - with plenty for all expectations) is 25 minutes walk although not suitable at night as not paths all the way, but a taxi is only 8 euros each way.
We stay at Elegance for 7 nights. It is bliss. A haven in the hills, yet 3mins from anywhere. We go exploring each day, from one end of Zakinthos to other, and we’ve seen nothing better. The dusty, narrow road up from Tsilivi provides no indication of what to expect. Have faith.
The rooms are exceptionally well sound insulated, the aircon is outstanding, bathroom new and well appointed. The beds are heavenly, sheets and pillows lovely. We had a pool suite, which was ideal for our 2 young kids. We loved it.
The breakfasts are very good - all manner of goodies, and a chef to cook what you need. Stamatis is omnipresent with coffees, tea, nothing too much trouble. He’s an excellent source too of local knowledge/places - he’s a delight. So too Kostas of an afternoon/evening. Cocktails on the terrace watching the sunset a real highlight. The main pool is lovely, so too the pool bar.
The hotel exudes privacy and discretion. The place was almost full each night we stayed, but there were many times we thought we were alone. If you think this place is too quiet, go down to Tsilivi or into Zakinthos town - these places are overrun with British tourists all searching for quick, cheap thrills. They can have it.
You MUST hire a car for your whole stay on Zakinthos. It’s not a “walk to town” or “same beach” kind of place. We found the beaches from north to south a delight, so too the simplest Tavernas. Avoid the touristy mainstream rubbish - any menu that has glossy pictures is to be avoided at all costs. Drive yourself to Navagio and to St Nicholas - DO NOT join a tour. Psaros, Vikos and Amboula all authentic and charming. We avoided Tsilivi beach, so too Banana beach altogether. Use your stay at Elegance as a base for all these adventures. And check out the trunks of the old olive trees. Amazing.
