The enchanting medieval treasure trove of Rhodes is the king among Greece’s 227 inhabited islands. Here, you can meander through the ancient, cobbled alleyways of the beautiful Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), sample sublime seafood at a bustling taverna or stroll through the glittering Mandraki Harbor. However you spend your time here, you’ll soon be smitten with the Dodecanese’s most romantic destination.
Located on the northern coast of the island, Electra Palace Hotel leads the way in Mediterranean refinery. Here, you’ll find elegant interiors and inviting guestrooms with all the contemporary amenities you could imagine, as well as dazzling views of the Aegean Sea. An array of excellent restaurants and bars deliver first-class international cuisine, and the resort’s spa boasts a treatment menu so luxe, you’re sure to feel like a Greek god (or goddess).
Each Sea Front Superior room boasts a comfortable amount of space and tons of natural light. Stylish, contemporary furniture complements the crisp, white bedding, and you’ll find all the essential modern comforts, such as a satellite TV and Wi-Fi access. Of course, the best part has to be the private balcony with breathtaking sea views.
Four exquisite eateries are on hand to keep your taste buds happy. The expansive main restaurant serves up impressive lunch and dinner buffets, as well as an American breakfast. Orientalista serves delicious Eastern Mediterranean grilled food, while A La Chinoise and the al-fresco Al Convento offer up excellent Chinese and Italian cuisine, respectively (both reservation only). The sophisticated Lobby Bar and the chilled-out Pool Bar provide liquid refreshment to suit any taste, and there’s even a gelateria for you to enjoy.
Famed for its incredibly well preserved medieval Old Town – which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and played host to the Knights Templar in bygone times – Rhodes is awash with ancient history and romanticism. Stroll down the famous Street of the Knights, pay a visit to the Grand Master’s Palace, and explore the gorgeous medieval walls. Further out, the picturesque whitewashed town of Lindos, with its famous acropolis, makes for a pleasing day trip. You may also want to take a ferry ride over to the sleepy nearby island of Symi, known for its picturesque harbor and lovely shops and tavernas.
How to Get There
Best presented and taken care of hotel I have ever stayed in. Hard to find rubbish even in the bins!
The food was great , the all inclusive is great and does include some drinks that would be classed as premium elsewhere.
Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough to make our visit amazing , only thing that ruined our trip was the flight there and back but that’s an issue for easyjet !
We will definitely be coming back to an Electra resort soon!!!
My husbandznd I stayed at the Electra Palace with a couple of friends at the end of September. We were all so pleased with our stay: A beautiful hotel, perfect beach front setting but an easy walking distance to the local town to stretch our legs. A 15 min bus ride to Rhodes town costs €8 for the 4 of us and the old town is a must see. Amazing weather all week was the cherry on top! Simple terms - a wonderful weeks get away.
The rooms and bathrooms at the Electra Palace are spacious, comfortsble and very modern, cleaned daily by wonderfully happy and pleasant teams. The large fruit platter on arrival to our room was a beautiful and thoughtful touch.
The restaurants have plenty of choices, and accommodate all food groups. We overhead a guest speaking to the chefs about her specific needs for one of them then to arrive to her table with a bespoke meal. Not 1 day was there a bad dining experience. Again the restaurant staff were always happy and smiling and chatty, as were all the guys at the bars; everyone was so happy and personable during our entire stay, the staff are a real credit to the management.
The pool area was kept immaculate, the beach front was always being tidied up with staff doing a walk through the beach sunbed area collecting glasses and emptying the small bins. The decked area was a very smart addition and again all furniture was clean modern and comfortable.
Nothing negative to say about any aspect. Loved it and would return in a heartbeat!
Just got back from a 6 night stay at the electra palace and wanted to share my views.
Hotel is generally clean and staff are friendly and helpful, food was to a good standard but some foods were cold to warm ,I think this was due to heat lamps not being sufficient enough , choice of food was varied and tasty, and I am a very fussy eater but found myself looking forward to dinner , lunch options could do with a little more choice but was satisfactory again I'm a very fussy eater.
I only found two issues of which one ,nothing can be done about and the second issue is the firm bed mattresses but with a phone call to reception the staff supplied mattress toppers for all 3 rooms the other issue and it's the biggest issue but I know nothing can be done by the hotel staff .....is the planes the hotel is directly under the approaching flight path to Rhodes airport , if you look closely you can see the bubblegum on the airplanes tyres as they are coming in , it's the only issue I had and it's such a shame as everything else about the hotel is fine.
The only other thing that stood out to me compared to the other 5 or 6 5* hotels I've stayed in at Rhodes is the waiter service ,it was minimal I think in 6 days and say a total of 20 hours by the bars I got got asked only twice if I wanted a drink ,its not a problem for me to go to the bar , but other hotels I have felt more pampered by waiter service ,this was the first hotel that I've not seen waiter service ,the other thing I would like to see is more snacks during the day of which I have seen in every other 5* hotel that is all inclusive whether its pre made rolls or a snack shack making pizza or filled sandwiches.
Please understand I am being very critical and I can not stress enough how fussy I am on food and with that being said I would still give the hotel 9/10 and I will be returning next year to this little gem.
