How to Get There
Situated across the road from Lille Europe station, this hotel is well situated both for train travel and the Lille Metro.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with a refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee making machine.
The breakfast is so-so: adequate but with little variety and thus unexciting.
One gripe: the room keys are those little plastic jobs which work electronically: only they don't work much of the time. On three occasions I had to retrace my steps from my 11th floor room in order to have my card re-energised. The receptionist claimed that ir must have been my mobile phone interfering with the card. Two observations on that: one, given that the vast majority of people carry mobile phones these days, their technology should be proof against interference from them. : two, my wallet containing the card was in the right hand inside pocket of my jacket whereas my phone was in the left hand pocket. So that lame excuse has no traction.
If it hadn't been for this nonsense, they'd have earned five stars.
Our stay was during some warm weather and the air conditioning was not up to the task and you can’t leave the window open as the freeway noise is high although the sound insulation is great, with the window
Closed you can’t hear it at all. Also the “gym” has no weights, no mats and no treadmill. The location is ok, right next to the station and the freeway. The room is spacious and well sized for a family. The inclusion of a microwave is a great idea.
Stayed here for 5 days, it is a very basic hotel, with beds were not comfortable and plastic bathrooms and inadequate open shelved furniture.
Saturday night all night was so busy and loud outside no of us slept. Being literally opposite train station and a massive shopping centre it was nonstop noise.
Not enough tea and coffee if you wanted a drink and the machine was rubbish and again they only left 1 or 2 pods of coffee!
Fridge was good as we used it to put drinks in and fruit etc.
Breakfast was basic, croissant, choc croissant, bread, ham cheese, fruit fresh and dried, yogurt, waffles, and boiled eggs and of course tea or coffee. Think it was ok but quality not great. Restaurant staff didn't smile or say hello, just left you to it. The seating area for breakfast was small as well.
Oh and the room was extremely hot so we had to have the window open....
Parking was awfully expensive as well.
It was just an ok hotel, ok for a couple of nights. I would say best part would be the location.
The location is great and a 10 min walk gets you to the shopping centre and the central part of the city. We had the Queen suite, it was tastefully arranged, space was sufficient for a family of 4, the beds were comfortable. No free parking, but there is a paid car park underground. Altogether, the staff was polite and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
We had a nice stay @ this hotel. The suite has a nice size, bed is comfortable as well as the sofa bed were our little one slept. However, the breakfast was a big disappointing! Very narrow self-service area, limited choices and pour quality of fruit! Hope they improve it for the future!
