The hotel is a short walk from the railway stations and is in the main area of lLille just behind the Opera Hoouse and close the the main shopping streets. The rooms are small but have all the facilities. The staff are attentive and can speak French and English.
Lille was a bit disappointing as there are few things to visit. It is also mainly closed on a Sunday
Close to Eurostar, opera house, restaurants and shops. The room we had was small but fine for me. Lights were dim but not a big problem for me. Staff courteous. Breakfast spread was basic but enough- with some scrambled eggs and continental selection. Price for one night was reasonable. Will return if coming back to Lille.
Mercure offerings are variable and this one is not good. Our room (503) was too cramped for the twin beds and really only suitable for a small single. The bathroom on the other hand was spacious with a large walk in shower. Unfortunately it had only one small ceiling light so the room was dingy and impossible for such tasks as applying makeup on.
We raised our concerns with Reception after checking in to be told it was one of their better rooms and specifically requested by other guests. They must be dwarfs - no offence to vertically challenged people. Gave similar feedback when asked when we checked out with a promise of an email. We were not surprised to hear nothing. All in all a disappointing experience made worse by the fact that we are Privilege members of Accor hotels and have used them a lot in the last 2 months.
Good hotel, very comfortable room, the location is fine. The bar area doubles up as a breakfast and lounge but seems to work well.Very good service and a good selection of items for breakfast.I will stay there again next time I visit and would tell you I have stayed in .
This was the second time I've stayed here. The hotel smelt a bit of drains in that usual French way but it went after a while. Very comfortable single room with a double bed, a kettle and tea in the room (which is recent) and good size bathroom.
Breakfasts are fantastic value with a super range of cereals, cheeses, breads, eggs etc.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Very well located for central Lille.
