How to Get There
Having stayed at Novotel a year ago , decided to try this neighbour.
Arrived at 13:45 for a 1500 hrs check in to be mentioned that apartment is not ready, so went around for 20 mins and waited in the lobby until 1505. No update.
Having driven fir 3 hrs and waiting for an hour, I decided to ask the reception person as it was way past 1500 hrs and then they say - oh yes you room is ready. ( trust me I was sat right in front of them for 45 mins)
I was glad , went up to my room - was spacious and bright and did like the apartment until I stepped into the kitchen where the walls were dripping with not sure what it was and the balcony was filthy.
It looked like a room that was not in use or being used by the staff for rest .. it didn’t look like an apartment to be rented for commercial purposes.
Airbnb hosts would put you to shame on this.
Too tired to complain that evening , I rang in the morning to let them know about it only to be told that there is no record for any guest in 704. The person repeatedly confirmed if I have got my room number right. ( serious safety and security concern if there was an emergency - the guest would not be accounted for!!!!)
Finally the person did take the homainy and said it would be cleaned. Returned to apartment that evening.
The beds were made but nothing had been done about the balcony.
I would have done it myself if there was a mop on the aparthotel.
Rang them and I was told that the manager has confirmed that the issue has been sorted and we can’t do more than that.
End of story.
Novotel next door is a exceptionally clean and service is better and there is no hygiene or safety concerns.
Will think twice about adagio again - maybe it’s Brentford management!
We had a very disappointing experience at this property. The first aprtment we were offered was dirty and poorly maintained, the second was not much better with leaking taps, faulty air conditioning and lack of basic kitchen utensils. They advertise as an aprtment hotel , but I dont think they expect anyone to actually utilise the self catering facilities. The staff have a fairly casual approach to service and the The pries are over the top for a below average property.
Our family of 4 have stayed here many times over the last few years, mainly as 'Urban Villa' but also a couple of times since its takeover by Adagio.
The hotel is part of the Kew Eye Tower - it occupies the first 10 floors, the upper 10 floors or so are private apartments (costing a fair amount of money I guess).
Area wise, there's not a great deal to do, some okay walks, decent parks, walk to Kew Gardens, watch the football at Brentford. Nearest decent shops would be in Ealing. I like the area though, as I lived and worked in the borough for 7 years.
Getting into London is ok - walk to South Ealing tube (15mins) or get the 65 bus. The bus will take you on to Ealing where you also have the central line, district line and overground services. My preferred option to get into London is walk to Brentford station (about 5-10 mins using short cuts) and get the mainline train into waterloo station (about 30 min I guess). This leaves you pretty close to the London Eye, Westminster etc.
If there are 4 of you your main option is to stay in a master villa - a 1 bedroom apartment with a huge sofa bed in the lounge. These places are great value - for a little more than your average hotel room you get heaps of space. The main feature is the enclosed glass balcony - the views may not be to everyone's taste but I love watching the world go by on the busy M4 below and depending on how high you are you might have a distant view of central London.
Other things worth noting - parking on the underground car park is pretty straight forward. Wi fi in the room is decently quick. Checking in and out always seems pretty efficient. The place is fairly well kept and clean - shows wear in places in the room but nothing unreasonable. The bathrooms are actually really nice and the bathtubs large.
Negatives - not many really. We once had a room on the first floor and this ruined our stay as we just looked onto a roof. Therefore, do request a middle or higher room. Also on our last stay the tv was a little tricky - the tvs are all smart tvs but this one had a problem with youtube. We also had trouble cooling one bedroom, though generally the heating and cooling is quite simple to use.
Overall, this is a really good place and I'm sure we will be back in the future.
Great wee apartment, perfect for working away - a home away from home. Very clean, all the kitchen accessories you should needs and very well presented! Even a dish washer!
Will definitely be back, prefer to a traditional hotel - with the perk that you can still get breakfast in the lobby!
My brother bought us tickets to watch the rugby. It was an amazing hotel. The view, the balcony. The decor very comfortable and has everything you need. My husband and I cooked breakfast in our self contained apartment. We got everything we needed from sainburys opposite. Staff very friendly and it's beautiful
