How to Get There
Having used the Urban Villa on several occasions we were disappointed to find that Adagio/Accor Hotels have not continued with the vibrant reception area and bar.
Booked for 'guarenteed' early arrival, check what time it was the night before, told 10am. Arrived at around 12.30 to be told check in is 3pm. Although I said I have paid for early check in the receptionist maintained it was 3pm, asked to see the Manager. After about 15 minutes a gentleman appeared, I showed him various emails and he said our room would be ready in 10 minutes and offered us complimentary parking.
Whilst standing in reception we began to notice the small changes, lack of bar/coffee etc.
We were given the keys to our room, 310, again a disapointment as as a member of accor hotels one of my room preferences is 'a high room' and another 'away from a lift' - you've guessed it room 310 is on the 3rd floor (there are 10) and bang next door to the lift.
On entering the bathroom there was an overwhelming smell of urine. A cleaner came to the door to bring a bath mat that was missing from the room and so I asked her to come back and re-clean the bathroom. I was now beginning to doubt that the room had been thoroughly cleaned before we had been let in. The second attempt at cleaing did not improve the smell so I went to Sainsbury and bought some toilet cleaner and did it myself!
The mismatch of glasses were dirty and the plates smeared, no need for that there is a dishwasher with tablets provided. I put everything through the dishwasher befre we used it.
The furniture is showing signs of wear with tears in the sofa bed fabric. There is no longer a radio in the bedroom and getting either televison to work was a real frushtration, especially during the rugby world cup final!
So to sum it up, it's ok if you didn't know the Urban Villa, but if you did and are expecting the same great staff and service, like us 9and a previous reviewer) you will be disappointed.
My wife, our two boys and I always use Adagio aparthotel where ever we go, it was nice to have it in London as well. the apart was just fabulous all as expected of 4 stars hotel. nice and helping staff, the only miner thing we had was we did not have the lids for pots, I guess they run out of them so did the member of staff tell us, she gave us more pots. believe me apart from this everything was very nice, you should try it do not take my word for it and let me know what you think.
Friendly staff. A very well appointed apartment with a great view. Very clean, although the bath mat was dirty on the underside. However there was a parking problem in that having paid at the hotel, I was issued with a default notice by pcm parking management, who have refused to acknowledge the payment. This saga is not yet resolved
