Rooms very small and basic. Not very clean scuff marks on woodwork and carpets not good. Have to close curtains if you want a shower and to get dressed as no privacy in rooms and has flats opposite. Very near to Euston station so noisy. Continental breakfast very basic - would not say its 4 star

Awful! Don’t be fooled by the hotels website photos!

Will NEVER stay here again!! I had stayed at the Wesley a couple of years ago, was in a very compact room, but thought it was just that I had booked it last minute, so wasn’t many room options left. Was very nice, modern, clean & well presented.
I returned this month and had also booked 3 rooms for a group of friends. I told them how lovely it was the last time I stayed. How embarrassed was I !!!!
I booked a double room - £134, a superior double - £152, & a triple room - £205. When we checked in and went to our rooms, 3 friends who were supposed to be sharing the triple, phoned me saying they think they had been given the sup double in error. I went to their room to find a regular double room. I went to reception, only to be told that the staff would put an extra bed in for us! You could hardly swing a cat, let alone put a single bed in it!!! I returned to reception again to ask what was going on. Both the standard double and alleged “superior” double were identical and next door to each other. The supposedly triple room was the same, only 1 floor up. The receptionist claimed that the standard room booking had been upgraded to superior, like we should be grateful & she forgot to mention it. This wasn’t mentioned when we checked in, only when we queried why the 2 rooms were the same. Yeh ok then!!
A member of staff wheeled a ‘put up bed’ (suitable for a child) to the room, expecting that to be good enough! Back to reception again! They eventually found a bigger room with a double and single bed for them. The receptionist also claimed the 2 superior doubles we were in were recently refurbished, as if we should be grateful again!! God knows who carried out the refurb!! Seriously! No apologies or offer of a discount or even breakfast. The rooms were in a very poor state, filthy carpets, missing tiles in the bathroom, scuffs & marks all over the walls, dirty tiles in the shower, overall scruffy. Not what you would expect to have in a superior, recently refurbished room, let alone a standard old room in a 4 star hotel!
I would have walked away & found another hotel, had I not paid in full in advance. I was mortified that I had brought friends here on my recommendation.
The location is the only thing the Wesley can claim to be good about their hotel now. The price for the low standards they now have, is very high. They are just taking advantage of the fact that the Ibis (that was in the next street), has had to close down for the new rail service. That was a much nicer place to stay at a fraction of the price.
When we were leaving later in the day for our evening out, another customer was at reception refusing to stay, as his room was so bad and nothing like what he saw on the hotel website. Reception were charging him a cancellation fee saying it was his fault for not cancelling sooner.

Not Great!

I stayed recently for 1 night.
The location is good if you're needing to be near Euston station as its only across the road.
I was booked into a superior room but was not very superior! The room looked nothing like the photos on the website. The shower was covered in mould and the shower head was hanging off the tiles.
The window didn't open and I couldn't get the air con working so room was so warm at night.
breakfast isn't anything special - toast, fruit etc and you have to pay extra for hot items.
I had an incident at check in where the receptionist said the room hadn't been paid - even though it had. She still let me in the room anyway and on check out a different receptionist said the room had been paid! So watch you don't pay twice!
all in all I wouldn't stay again the hotel just didn't seem clean enough for me.

Better than expected

After booking this hotel on LateRooms and only reading TripAdvisor reviews afterwards, I was dreading checking in. I expected some backstreet, dirty, flea pit of a hotel. How wrong I was.

It was by far the cheapest hotel hotel n the area. I paid £176, even the travelodge and premier inn were £199.

Our room was small but perfectly formed and spotlessly clean. I wonder if the bad reviews are based on who has cleaned and checked the room.

Our room was modern, bed was perfectly made and clean white bed linen and the bathroom looked almost new with no mound and clean tiles and grout.

We were on the ground floor which meant there is a little noise and rumble from tube trains, but even as a light sleeper this didn’t disturb me.

Location is perfect if you are coming into Euston station and you want to leave luggage.

Reception staff were courteous and helpful.

I am not doubting from previous reviews that this hotel may have an issue with consistency of cleaning and customer experience but my experience was far better than the reviews I read.

location and service

the hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. the staff were friendly and welcoming and accommodating.having booked in for two nights initially,on the day of checking out i decided i would like to stay another night and they were quiet happy to extend my stay and the following day when i again decided to extend my stay , although busy , they still managed to let me stay a further night without having to change rooms. the hotel in ideally located to reach most places of interest in 15 to 20 mins being 2mins from euston mainline and underground stations.the room although a little small was clean tidy and comfortable. i will be returning soon and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anybody.
