How to Get There
We had a wonderful stay at the Rubens last week. Our room, the service, food and general ambiance of the hotel were all first class. This hotel is on a parr with other 5 star hotels in the capital but also has the added benefit of feeling more homely and comfortable.
Every member of staff we encountered were very professional in a warm and friendly manner, the level of staff training appears to be very high and certainly pays off.
I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel and plan to do so on our next trip to London.
Had a great few days in London staying at The Rubens.
Very friendly and accommodating hotel.
Great location for accessing the capital.
Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards and Westminster only a short walk away.
Accessible via Victoria and Piccadilly Tube stations.
Our family enjoyed three days at the Rubens at the Palace while attending an event at Buckingham Palace.
Our dog Oscar was made so welcome by every member of staff. This hotel is so so dog friendly they even have a special menu.
The overall experience was superb. We had lunch at the English Grill as well as great breakfast each day.
All contributed to a memorable visit to London.
Well, what can I say about this hotel. It is absolutely the best hotel ever. Situated in a great area, practically opposite the Palace. The staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is cooked fresh. The hotel is just so beautiful. They made us so welcome and the extra touches they laid on for us to celebrate our anniversary of 21 years together was amazing.
We arrived too early to go to our room, but it wasn't a problem. The staff on Reception were really friendly and kind. We checked in, left our luggage with the concierge and had a drink in the delightful red bar. As soon as our room was ready, we were advised, and the member of staff took the luggage token and took our bag up for us while we finished our drinks. Our room was clean and comfortable. I especially loved the stationery drawer! There was also a safe, bathrobes a hairdryer and ample toiletries. Within a few minutes there was a knock at the door, Scott, from Reception, had made us a card about the show we were going to see that evening and gave us two little bags of sweeties! So kind, and soon after that we got a call to ask if everything was alright with the room. The staff were very attentive. On leaving to go out in the evening, door man Aaron, was also very friendly and attentive. When we returned at the end of the evening we had drinks again in the red bar. I have to say, the night staff didn't seem as friendly as the day staff though. There was a lady singer which was very entertaining while we supped our night caps. It was a good, comfy nights sleep, bathroom facilities good, clean and comfy too. The breakfast was exceptional, and included in our price. Check out was easy, again, lovely friendly Reception staff, and a nice friendly goodbye from Aaron the door man. A great stay and we would recommend it.At the time we visited there was scaffolding covering the whole of the front of the hotel (we very nearly missed it because of that!) so I would assume none of those rooms had a good view. Ours, 433, did not have a view at all, just backs of buildings and air conditioning units! Only poor thing about it really, but we weren't there for the view, we were there for an evening show.
