How to Get There
I love this hotel. The breakfast is the best in the City and the staff are extremely helpful. The fact that it's across the street from the Royal Mews, down the block from Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Palace Theatre (Hamilton) is just one of the advantages of staying here. I've stayed here before and Guest Services Manager, Alice Roper, was really kind to my family-we found chocolates and wine in our room which was lovely. Also, they still serve food in their bar/restaurant until 11:30 which came in really handy with children that were jet-lagged and hungry at all hours of the day.
this is a very nice hotel. very, very cordial and helpful staff. we did not use the dining room so no help there. the room was a little small but very nice. service was superb.
bathroom modern and clean, hair dryer, coffee maker, etc., ....
most positive location for first time touring. walking distance to all the first time things to do.
It may sound strange to say that my wife and I often decide against staying in 5 Star Hotels, not only because of the expense, but because of the snobbery you often encounter therein.
A wiser person might say that snobbery exists in hotels of every star, and they would be correct. However, there is a pressure you often feel to perform as a 5-star guest too, rendering the price a waste of money.
Not so @ the Rubens. The hotel is worth its stars but it was the staff that really made our stay special. They were friendly and helpful and made us feel like we were most welcome.
A wonderful 10th wedding anniversary. And, right around the corner from Hamilton too.
