How to Get There
What can I say about this hotel, everything was perfect. The value, the location, the decor, the team members, the air con!!
My mother and I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and would highly recommend and return on our trips to London.
The hotel bar has some pretty impressive bottles of wine, the bottle of house wine was lovely.
The free upgrade was also very much appreciated :)
This was by far the best value hotel I managed to find when searching for a stay in London. So, to be honest, I wasn't entirely sure about what to expect.
I needn't have worried! Reception is lovely, friendly and efficient. The room was small, but the bed very comfortable. There was a large bottle of water supplied free of charge, and some good quality snacks available to buy. I did find it noisy from fairly early in the morning because of the traffic outside, but that's London for you.
The receptionist in the morning went out of her way to be helpful. It's a very short walk to Earls Court tube, and there are also several nice restaurants within good walking distance.
Kensington wouldn't always be my first choice for a London stay because it's slightly out of centre ... but for this price and experience, I'll definitely be checking to see if the Rockwell has availability.
I stayed at the Rockwell for one night, last Sunday. The area around it is pretty variable and it fronts a noisy main road, but when you step inside it is calm and modern. The staff were friendly and efficient and although small, my single room was well appointed and very well designed. Breakfast was good, with decent choices and high quality ingredients. I was a bit disappointed to find the restaurant was closed on Sunday evenings, but there is plenty of choice in nearly Earls Court. I would happily stay here again.
