How to Get There
I have been travelling this hotel with my colleagues for more than 4 years and they are more than 11 years. Hotel is in very good an popular location. Its in couple mins walking distance from Harrods shopping centre and 15-20 mins walking away from Oxford Street. Its opposite Victoria and Albert museum and again very close to History and Science museum. Hotel rooms are confortable, if you get executive room you will have king size bed and jacuzzi in your room. Since our last stay they have renovated the restaurant and it was good to see that they are making improvements.
We arrived very early (before the official check-in time) but the staff was incredibly helpful. They stored our luggage and completed all check-in information. The room was comfortable with all the amenities (wake-up calls, safe, TV, mini bar, water heater for coffee and tea, a nice bathroom with bathtub and shower, etc) - I had requested two beds but was assigned one king size bed (not an issue). The room was on the rear of the hotel, so a bit more quiet. It is in a great location - right across from the Victoria and Albert museum about 5 minutes from the tube station (South Kensington) and 2 minutes from many restaurants. The breakfast was wonderful - a buffet with everything you can imagine (the omelet is great!). . And check-out was just as easy. I highly recommend this hotel!
Booking in advance was easy. My guest and I arrived much earlier than we had planned and the staff were very accommodating about bringing our reservation forward. (The lounge was not busy although this was about 3.30pm on Father's Day.) The food was nicely presented and my guest's request for cucumber rather than smoked salmon was met without any fuss. Overall the standard of the tea was fine but the scones were disappointing - small, hard and almost biscuit. They were served with a large pot of cream and two halves of fresh strawberry, not jam. The seating was very comfortable and we were left in peace to chat without feeling under pressure. We felt that given the prime location (opposite the V and A Museum) the price of the regular tea (no alcohol included) was reasonable.
My teenage daughter and I visited London and stayed here. We looked out our window at the Victoria and Albert Museum and down the street to Harrod's. GREAT location. The staff was helpful and the food good. I would stay here again and have set this as the standard in London while traveling.
The accommodations and location are very nice. The restaurant is over priced. The breakfast buffet is satisfactory. They have a menu with items you can order at no charge with breakfast. My daughter and I both ordered a cafe latte. I don't know the waiters name but he had his hair in a messy bun. When he brought us our lattes he informed us that we could make them ourselves at the nachine. I thought that was rude. Neil the concierge was very helpful and funny.
