How to Get There
Very impressed with this hotel, rooms were clean, staff polite and helpful, breakfasts were amazing, and the hotel is conveniently situated for transport links, museums and central London. The hotel made our trip a special one to remember.
We booked this hotel via Secret Escapes and the package came with a shared platter at the bar area with 2 glasses of prosecco and breakfast, staying Executive Double Room.
The sharing platter was really nice, we had a choice of 5 items from a menu. Breakfast was almost all gone when we arrived at 10.30am although it should be served until 11am. We asked for the fresh fruit to be refilled and the bowl was just topped up with yogurt. The room was quite small but ok for 2 people. The bathroom was dated and the tiles and marble around the sink chipped and not very nicely kept. The room and bathroom were both very clean and the tea and coffee facilities more than satisfying (although there is only enough milk for 2 cups of tea/coffee) but we asked for more and got a delivery within 5 mins.
The location of this hotel is perfect. Only a 7min walk to Harrods, 10 mins to Hyde Park and 3mins to the Natural History Museum.
Overall this hotel was in a perfect location for us but lacked a special touch.
Would recommend if you're not looking for something special.
For a sightseeing visit to London, the Hotel Rembrandt is an excellent choice. Located in Knightsbridge/South Kensington, the hotel is positioned very close to Harrods, the V&A, Hyde Park and is only a long walk away from Green Park and Buckingham Palace. Tube stops are within a 5-10 minute walk. The rooms are nothing special but are clean, well-kept and altogether functional. The buffet breakfast is excellent - there are tons of options there and a little something for everyone. We found this amenity really useful with defraying some of the high costs associated with dining in London. Finally, it's worth mentioning how helpful the staff are. We had a problem with our keycard and the front desk staff very quickly provided us with a new room for our trouble.
This was our second stay at this hotel, again to go to the Royal Albert Hall, and for this alone the location is perfect. Our welcome was easy, reception is well staffed, so little queuing and waiting. There were some queries about our reservation package, but this was quickly sorted. We had two executive double rooms on the third floor, looking out over the side of the building. The water was always hot, complimentary water replaced each day and great bathrobes in the rooms. Considering the hotel is on a busy road, it was very quiet. The refurbishment to the dining room is an improvement, the omelette station at breakfast is a good addition, the lounge bar a welcoming area with a weekday happy hour. Staff were approachable and always helpful. Our only issue is the way in which the final bill is itemised. We are returning for another stay in March.
Stayed for 2 nights as we wanted to be close to The Albert Hall. Hotel is in a good location, check in was quick and efficient. Our room was fine as we just needed a place to sleep.
We used the bar/lounge on both evenings, the layout needs to be revised as there were at times people struggling to get seats but there were enough, just that a single person could take up a table setting for 6 or more people and people are reluctant to take seats were a person is already sitting.
There needs to be more waiting staff at peak times as on both evening(Fri &Sat) the poor single server couldn’t keep up with demand. The bar food was below average too. The experience of the evening put us off taking breakfast as we had the impression it would be too busy with limited staff.
I won’t return as I feel we could get a better experience at other hotels in the area for a similar price.
