What a service!

Was sitting outside the hotel, in a Lebanese place and reading the reviews. We had meeting in the area so booked it online and went to checkin 5 min after. The staff was adorable, the service and food superb. A mega meny for room service was around all day and many items in the night. Beds where comfortable and the rooms big. A bit rundown hotel though. We enjoyed the company of many revisiting guests that have this place as their second home. A very fun and enjoyable stay. Breakfast was very nice.

When we travel with our adult son, we always wanted to have connecting rooms or 1 bedroom suite so that we can share more time together. We tried requesting connecting rooms in this property before but never got it. That's why in recent years, we just go for a 1 bedroom suite even though it is more expensive than 2 rooms and the rollaway bed is not as comfortable as a real bed. The 1 bedroom suite is literally 2 rooms converted into 1 bedroom and 1 living area with a big sofa.

I had similar frustration like libertylakevandal. For a couple times before, the rollaway bed was free and they said the room was booked for 3 adults and they would provide bedding for 3 adults. I did not check carefully on the fine print this time. They charge me GBP60 extra per night. I argued and but no use. One more hiccup was that the bed was not even set up when we returned after dinner. We had to wait for 20 minutes for it to be done.

Having said that, its location is unbeatable. Its walking distance to Harrods and Hyde Park, close to subway station.

I do want to specially mention that the welcome fruit plate was very impressive this time. When we were in the room on the second day, the staff even came to check if the fruits were still fresh and whether they need to replace. This is the standard!

Now that Marriott expanded its network and we have more choices. Not to mention that more boutique hotels open nearby, we will re-consider if we would come back again.

We (wife, adult son, and myself) spent 8 nights at this property. It started out poorly because we had a room reserved for 3 adults (one king plus a rollaway) and they said the rollaway was not included and we would have to pay an additional 60 pounds per night for the rollaway. The lady at the front desk did not want to help us and when we asked to speak to the manager, she walked back and opened the office door (nobody was in the office) and turned around and said there was nothing she could do for us. Long story short was we were persistent and eventually got the rollaway for no extra charge.
The other negative about the stay is the rooms need to be updated. For the price of the room, furnishings are outdated. The linens were nice though.
Now for the positives:
-Guest rooms are spacious.
-Great location. Very centrally located and in a safe area.
-Most of the staff were awesome. See below
Will from maintenance fixed a very noisy light bulb that had a fan in it that hummed loudly. Will was very professional and knew exactly how to solve the problem.
When we got to our room our safe wouldn't work. One, then two security guys worked diligently to fix the safe and got the problem solved within 30 minutes.
The concierge group was simply awesome. Special thank you to Greg. He had many helpful hints and is an asset to this property.
Don, night security in the lobby also offered helpful insights and was a pleasure to talk to.
Lastly, Jakapo, (sp) the Junior Manager at the front desk got the ball rolling and truly wanted to solve our rollaway issue.

We arrived late afternoon and our room was ready. We were told we had been upgraded to a higher floor. The view was not of the park, it was of the city...but on that side, you really only see a lot of cranes. Nevertheless, although the rooms are not big, it was comfortable. The turn down Service is done daily and you get plenty of bottles of water, downside is that they are plastic bottles. (Wonder when hotels will all join together and ban plastic bottles all around, can you imagine the positive impact this would have). I am vegan and contacted the hotel prior to my arrival to inquire if I should take as my free welcome amenity, the breakfast. They responded to me by offering many Vegan options. I have to admit that they delivered. At breakfast, the server already knew, based on my room number & name, that I was a vegan and he was eager to make sure I left happy. I had a Detox green juice, some avocados, cereal, toasts, some beans and Hummus. It was delicious. I also had amazing Lattes with soya milk. The bed was extremely comfortable but as this is an old hotel, noise comes from the pipes when someone uses the water, but you simply close the door to your bathroom, and you do not hear it.
We had a glass of wine one evening at the bar on the first floor and the service was very friendly. I did the online check-out and have yet to receive the email copy of my bill, but this happens to all Bonvoy hotels I go to...must be a general glitch.
Overall we were in London to see some shows and have some great food and drinks. Having chosen this hotel did not disappoint us. Thank you to the staff.

I like the atmosphere in this place when I come for business. We like to see the cigar shop and concierge always advises on things to see in London. I come often to London but was surprised Kasun from bar remembered us on visit! Very friendly and nice guy.
