Amazing birthday upgrade!
Reviewed 2 days ago

I stayed at Montague on the Gardens with my husband to celebrate this 30th birthday. We were overwhelmed and amazed when lovely receptionist Harriet upgraded us the the Governor’s Suite as a birthday gift. The two bedroom suite complete with dining room, kitchen, lounge and copper bathtub was spectacular. I had ordered a bottle of champagne to be placed in the room but we found that the staff had also included a birthday balloon, box of biscuits, cakes, a basket of soaps and two birthday cards! On top of the beautiful suite we were delighted to find all staff at the hotel to be thoroughly professional and friendly. The tour of the facilities on check in was a nice touch and every person we had dealings with was a delight. Thank you Montague for a perfect experience - we will be back!

Phenomenal service, great rooms, super convenient location--and I could go on. These people--all of them--absolutely know what they are doing and, if you talk to them for two minutes, they will do their utmost to figure out what you need. Within one day of staying there, many of the lobby staff knew us by name (I don't think it was because we were pests...). They were discreet unless we asked them for help, then they never failed. The fantastic location might lead you never to spend time at the hotel, but do. Cocktails are solid (and the staff know their gins), breakfast fare is beyond satisfactory, and the staff are (obviously) a wealth of knowledge. Would stay again with no hesitation whatsoever.

Excellent and Great Location

The Montague was a wonderful hotel in London! We loved how close we were to the British Museum and the Tube station at Russell Station. We were a short walk to both! It’s easy to use the subway system to get where ever you need to go! The hotel’s housekeeping staff does an excellent job, we loved the treats on our bed when returning after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurant was a little fancy for me but my daughter loved her meal! We had the scones and tea one afternoon and they were very good. The staff was helpful and quickly found us a taxi where leaving for the train station. It is a short walk but it was raining. Overall, an excellent stay!

Still very attentive staff and warm welcome. I had asked for a quiet room and was assigned a room with garden view. Could hear birds singing at open widow.
Evening turndown, biscuits, newspaper delivered in the morning- just makes me feel most welcome.
I shall be back in the winter.

Service above & beyond...

My wife and I returned to the ‘Monty’ again for a 2 night stay, primarily to see Fleetwood Mac at Wembley and to visit some fave places in London. As usual, we were treated like VIP’s from the moment we arrived outside in our car. The concierge took care of car parking while we checked in, etc. We had a lovely room on the ground floor which was still very quiet considering it was on the Main Street. When it came to the morning of our departure, we were treated to complimentary tea, coffee & hand-made cookies while we waited for our car to be brought to the reception by the concierge. Unfortunately our car could not be started due to a flat battery so the concierge contacted the RAC on our behalf and made arrangements for our car to be repaired and returned to the hotel ASAP. However, the as the RAC agent said the estimated attendance time for the repair technician was going to be at least 6 hrs the hotel staff ‘rallied round’ and offered to try and start our car! So off they went in one of their own vehicles while we were treated to more refreshments for which the hotel would accept no payment. Within half an hour, it was a great relief to see our car appear in front of the reception, up & running with no apparent faults. After loading our luggage into the boot, all the staff involved in our ‘rescue’ came outside and waved us off on our way! Jorge, Jakob & Delphine at the Montague went above and beyond the call of duty to get us on our way that day so they have our eternal gratitude!! Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!
