How to Get There
I stayed here for 2+ weeks of business travel. Rooms were small but lovely. Breakfast was generous, and service was top notch from concierge to front desk, bellmen to servers. The concierges were spot on with restaurant recommendations, called taxis immediately, helped me find all errand locations needed. It’s a quick 5 minute walk to the National Museum, 10 minute walk to Bao and other delicious restaurants and bars. The Leopard Bar is super fun to unwind and have a drink, often with live music. Definitely will be back!
We stayed at this hotel last night. Danielle on reception was lovely and all the staff were very welcoming. The room was quirky, clean and fun. I felt like I was staying in a luxury cruise cabin. The complimentary biscuits and turndown service were a nice touch. We have never stayed in a hotel for dinner before but after a very long day we thought we'd just eat in our room. Unfortunately the risotto was cold and didn't contain the ingredients it said it did on the menu.. wild mushroom and beetroot.. it was mushroom and spinach I think?? The chips were also cold and the pot was half full. We called reception to tell them and instead of bringing a fresh hot portion up they sent someone up to ask if we wanted it 'reheating' we just didn't expect that!! Instead they took it away and we went hungry. When we checked out they still charged us for it even tho we only ate a fork full. I asked the guy at reception to take it off and he did. Good job we checked.
I would stay in this hotel again for sure but probably wouldn't eat there as it kind of ruined our night.
My previous stay a few years ago was very pleasant. This time happy again. All staff very helpful and polite.Rooms towards the garden are very quiet which is hard to find in central London.Ideal location next to the British Museum. Complementary cookies delivered to the room at tea time.Highly recommended !
My husband and I recently stayed at the Montague based off the recommendation of a friend, and we truly had a wonderful experience. Though the guest rooms are a little small, they are clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the atmosphere was great, and the location was ideal. We had a wonderful experience and definitely recommend!
Stayed at The Montague for 3 nights to celebrate retirement from the NHS. From checking in to leaving, everything was just perfect. Having previously stayed at very large chain hotels this time we decided on a smaller boutique type of property and we’re so glad that we did. Staff throughout are very attentive and friendly. The hotel is only a short walk to the Covent Garden area or to Shaftesbury Avenue. There’s also as usual tube stations nearby which allow you to get around the city. The British Museum is across the road, a 2 minute walk. It’s definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in History.
Our room was well appointed with a nice view of the gardens. Bed was very comfortable and the home made cookies on arrival are a nice touch. Before heading out on the Monday night we enjoyed a couple of drinks in the Leopard Lounge. My Whiskey sour cocktail was the best I’ve had. Service was again excellent and we enjoyed the musical entertainment on offer.
On our final night we decided to dine in the hotel Blue Door Bistro. The service continued to be of an exceptional standard and the food was terrific. So good that for the first time in a number of years, we both had 3 courses. Usually we don’t bother with a starter as it’s too much, but the choices on offer tempted us so much! Although we ended up very full, every course was delicious. We again enjoyed the live music in the lounge after dinner and a few more cocktails.
Our stay included breakfast, where there’s a choice of Continental or a hot Buffet, (you can take from both if you like). There was also options of freshly cooked meals at a small supplement. The choice at the continental and buffet was very good and was regularly topped up.
The lounge area at reception provided Hot Chocolate throughout the day - very chocolatey and great on returning from shopping or sight seeing.
The Montague is now our favourite London hotel, and we are already talking about visiting in the summer of 2019. It’s a lovely hotel, but the main reason is the way the staff make you feel really welcome and offer a more personal touch. They really provide a top service.
