Very pleasant

Lovely stay in this very reasonably London hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with my cool, spacious, clean and welcoming room. It had all mod-cons and I was pleased to find that I slept very well in the comfortable bed. I would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The room was very worn. Carpet filthy, sofa worn and old. Bathroom so small toilet roll behind you that fell off wall when pulling the roll. Only shelf sloped so everything fell off!
Fawlty Towers! Stayed 3 nights as close to my Aunt and Uncle. Last night people arguing all night and I called reception twice to complain. We did not sleep that night oh and no mattress pad and the mattress was stained.
We will never stay again. Room was awful.
However front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. We did not pay for our last night
Glad to get that off my chest !

Needs a fixer upper

Came here for 2 nights on business with a group of 6 others.
The hotel looks good at first sight but there some things that really made it less than average for us.
The house keeping needs a refresher course- I had crumbs on my old satiny carpet ( all throughout he hotel) hairs etc.
The furniture is super old and needs an update, the shower had either boiling water or cold, no middle!
For 120 pounds a night I expected more. Much more.

Dilapidated, horrible

Awful. Threadbare carpets in room and stairs, damp wallpaper peeling off near the ceiling, toilet leaking onto floor, paint cracked in en-suite, lampshades bubbling with age, desk/dressing table, bedside cabinets, coffee table all peeling.

Just shockingly bad.

Nice quiet street though, actually slept quite well, but then it was a heavy night. No cooked breakfast available - really????

Really really needs a refurbishment
Reviewed 6 months ago

I used this hotel for many years and put friends and family there regularly. Went back myself this week and while pleased that it keeps the old family atmosphere and the prices are really reasonable, it really needs a refurbishment. The carpets are truly awful and must not have been changed for a very long time. While the sheets and towels were very clean and so was the bathroom the bedcover was also a bit dodgy. Good points was a large safe, good wifi, and the room was really spacious and warm. It wouldn't take much to make it in a really good hotel again but the carpets in particular are a real problem.
