How to Get There
The staff are simply wonderful and very helpful indeed. WE were disappointed in the decoration of our room which was on the back side of the hotel over a pathway between blgds.
The sofa slip covers were ill fitting, Other furnishings in an old style too, Where as per other reviewers here the promo photos show far more contemporary furnishings, Weirdly the staff couldnt figuer out the discrepancy when we pointed it out.
The mgment should be more careful which rooms the sell and the rooms guests actually get. I trust this is not corrected but sad to see others still commenting on it here. To our mind the staff were terrific but this does not deserve the rating it gets on Trip Advisor,
Ourselves & three other families stayed here for a family wedding over Christmas & New Years. We simply had the best time.
Tobey & all of the staff could not have been more helpful from the moment of booking to helping us locate a lost bedtime teddy (by going through 49 bags of laundry!) when we left.
Facilities in the apartments really are first class, spacious, spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable beds & best of all wonderful power showers and an incredible location.
We will be back
Thank you to Tobey and the staff at Kings Wardrobe-Bridgestreet Apartments in London, England. We were so thankful we stumbled upon this beautiful apartment after being extremely disappointed with the first location we booked. After getting to that hotel, (4 of us), we decided not to check because they were going to put us in a 2x4 shoebox room in the basement. We were so disappointed. We searched the web for another location for our Christmas trip and found Kings Wardrobe! We took a chance and ubered there as quickly as possible. When we approached the courtyard, I knew we had stumbled upon a wonderful place! We walked into the office and were met by an extremely friendly young man (sorry, I don't recall his name) who was willing to see what he could do on the spot...mind you...it was Christmas Eve day in London! We asked to see the apartments as he said one was available. We immediately knew this is where we wanted to stay. Not only was it beautiful and spacious, it was clean, everything worked and steps to St. Paul's Cathedral. He introduced us to Tobey who was the Manager. Tobey was so gracious, friendly and accommodating. He worked with us and helped us get into a beautiful suite, one in which my whole family was so happy with! He greeted us in the morning, printed our train tickets and even lent us his gym key! He couldn't have been nicer!
We were so grateful! Thanks Tobey and staff! We will be back for my son's graduation in May 2020. Can't wait for that and our stay at Kings Wardrobe.
Our family of four stayed here for a week in July 2018. The apartment is wonderful- very spacious and clean. The courtyard entrance is charming and feels very private. Tobey the manager was incredibly attentive. We had the two-bedroom with air conditioning (it was hot in the summer and the AC made it very comfortable). The beds themselves were comfortable with nice sheets. The two bathrooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked while we were there and used the stovetop, microwave and oven. The microwave was a little tricky but Tobey helped us with instructions. The refrigerator is full size. There were mini-grocery stores around the corner with not much variety but at least all the staples we needed (milk, yogurt, vegetables, meat). You really have to get out of central London to find a larger grocery store. Many restaurants nearby too. The location is central. We used the Blackfriars station which is two blocks away both for the rail (travel to and from the Gatwick airport) and the Tube to access other areas of the city. You are one block from St. Paul's Cathedral- you can hear the bells ringing from the apartment. To note that it's not too loud inside the apartment- I'm a very light sleeper and it did not disturb my sleep. If we had to keep the windows open on the other hand (like if the apartment didn't have AC), then I can see it being an issue during the nighttime for light sleepers. You are close to Millenium Bridge, Tower of London, Shakespeare's Globe, and the Shard among others. We would highly recommend these apartments and would stay here again on our next visit.
To set the scene, if you want to stay in the heart of the city of London, a stones throw from St Paul’s Cathedral, literally with a good throw, in a little court yard that could be out of Dickens or Harry Potter, but providing apartments with simple but quality amenities, then this is your place
I could imagine a high court judge or a top business person staying here. I could also imagine someone who would choose Cape Cod to visit before Disney Land staying here.
The staff are discreet but very helpful, you have all you need as an independent traveller.
On the other hand if you do like Disney land or let’s say something with Trump in front of it, please don’t come we may be visiting again and may bump into you.
