How to Get There
The location of this hotel is perfect: walking distance everywhere on foot with all the theaters and restaurants around it... the hotel entrance is also nice enough, but when you go up the elevator, it is like entering a 2star hotel!.. the rooms are old and shabby, bathrooms are terrible and housekeeping is really bad to say the least!!,. There is not even an in room safe!..
The room and the staff were quite nice. The pros and the cons of the hotel come down to the location. It's just off Trafalgar Square (as the name suggests). Given the location and the quality, the price was a great value (special deal through a travel site). This was convenient for The National Gallery and restaurants we wanted to visit, as well as Tube access. It did mean that there was significant noise at times, as well as a large amount of foot traffic at almost any time of day.
Nice but small room. Good price. Superb location well within walking distance of the most desired sites and very close to the Charing Cross tube station. Attendants were very helpful and nice. I would definitely return.
Stayed here for two nights in April - excellent location, fast check in and room was ready early. Good king sized bed which we found comfy, very small bathroom and no bath in ours. The carpet had dirty brown marks on it (room 310). It was very noisy both nights with doors banging and the sound of some sort of generator. Breakfast was £19.50 but there is an excellent coffee shop / bistro a couple of doors down which does an excellent breakfast for £9.00. When we had our last drink in the bar at 10.30/11pm we were told if we wanted another drink we would have to locate to a lounge, even as residents. It is however a brilliant location.
Very warm welcome and lovely bar and eating area in a high ceilinged building with the walls covered in beautiful marble. Very friendly staff. Not cheap but worth it.Suggest you try and get a room at the back as the front faces onto Northumberland Avenue which is very busy.
