How to Get There
Let me first say the location was perfect. Close to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Buckingham Palace, St James Park, Westminter, Parlinment and Big Ben, Horse Guards Parade and Trafalgar Square. THe photos enticed us. The commona areas were as represented; looked great. The room left much to be desired. Barely enough room for a double bed and a desk. Double beds were the only choice so I assume all rooms were of similar size. The Grand at Trafalgar Square was also known as the Club Quarters. Never learned or understood the distinction. Excellent breakfast. Adjacent Pizza restaurant was top notch. Highly recommend it. Would not stay there again unless location was important.
The reception was awful, nobody helped with bags and the staff are unhelpful. There is also no ramp or elevator when you arrive from the street and you need to take or drag your bags on your own. There aren’t even any carts to help yourself.
The rooms are cramped, old, have very little cupboard space. The bathrooms awful (and even scary!) and I just wanted to leave the minute I arrived. I am bewildered at how this can be considered a 4 star hotel.
You have other options in London and this isn’t one of them.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Don't waste your money
My hubby booked for our anniversary and was left very disappointed
Pros of the place:
Shower flooded the floor
Only a wall as a view
Bed was broke
Loads of dust on window frame and secondary glazing
Cleaning staff doing cleaning from 1 in the morning banging doors and talking very loud all night
massive gap under door that I had to put my jacket up against it to stop draft
Go to speak to staff one member tried fobbing me off another lady said we would get 50% back but only did 20%
Went back to see the lady to then be blandly lied to saying she said £50 and for the other person to back her up when he wasn't even in the room( he got phone call )
Eventually got 50% back but not the point I've left with a bad cold ear ache and horrible chest
See for yourselfs with the pics
