How to Get There
Beautiful boutique small hotel in a very nice and quiet neighborhood of London. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the room was absolutely gorgeous. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was delicious, on par with any fine restaurant.
The Gloucester (pronounced Glowster, for all us Yanks) underground station is 2 minutes away, which was very convenient, and the Hop On Hop Off buses also stop right by the Gloucester station as well.
Great room, spacious and clean. Additional bonus that you could smoke in it (a rarity these days). Very comfortable bed and fantastic bathroom. The staff were very polite and friendly. Loved our treat of a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our anniversary. We’ll definitely stay there again.
Wonderful day at the spa. Very good massage, warm and welcoming hammam, elegant tea time. We chose this place as a part of our 25 anniversary and got a very good value for the price. Highly recommended!
I could tell from the entry foyer that we were in trouble: instead of a typical large bouquet of fresh flowers to welcome guests, some cheapskate had bought half a dozen little cheap orchids from the supermarket and put them around the entry table. That was my first moment of truth. The room was insufferably warm when we checked in too and the first thing we had to do was call the front desk to ask why AC was not working. They sent around (probably the owner) some guy in a suit who carried a little step stool and a stick and he immediately went to the closet to a panel that was left off the ceiling (unattractive and unprofessional). He poked and prodded until he got it to kick on again, and in an hour or so, it started to cool down. We wound up having to do this every day we stayed there. One of the curtains in our room was ripped and torn and you couldn't open it. The safe also was inoperable but they came around and changed the batteries. They got my money this time, but my advice is keep looking since this was a tourist trap and they are ripping people off.
We booked a quiet romantic meal for two on a quiet Sunday evening. The restaurant was quiet and the staff were kind and attentive. Even my slightly odd food dislikes were accomodated without hesitation - highly recommend this restaurant
