Two night stay for the Festival Of Remembrance

Overall we had a very good stay and we can recommend this hotel. The hotel is very well situated for both the tube station and the Albert Hall. The only negative areas were as follows. Check in could have been improved. The hotel had recorded our names incorrectly and they had no knowledge of the fact that we had booked a room rate which included breakfast, although this was soon amended. On the second day, the tea and coffee was not replenished in our room and the two coffee mugs were still dirty. This was again resolved quickly by the hotel following a call to reception. The other issue was that the carpet in our room was quite badly stained. Check out was easy and efficient. All of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast were outstanding, as was the quality of the food. Our room was also very spacious by London standards, was very quiet and we had a great bathroom. We would very much like to stay there again..

Champagne Afternoon Tea

We had friends visiting from Cincinnati who had never had an English Afternoon Tea and, as they were staying at an hotel in Cromwell Road, I did some research and found The Bentley who were offering a choice of Afternoon Teas. I duly booked the Champagne option which included a glass before having the tea and I'm so glad I did! The hotel itself was spotless and palatial and, on arrival, we were greeted in reception and taken to the restaurant where we were met by a very pleasant young man who showed us to our delightful table. From then on, the service was second to none and the Champagne, tea, sandwiches, cakes and scones were excellent. In fact, this is one of the best Afternoon Teas we have ever had (even better than one we had a couple of years ago at The Ritz!) and the Americans were overwhelmed and extremely impressed. Every member of staff we encountered were polite and efficient and I can't recommend this hotel and its Afternoon Tea enough - it was superb!

Just Smoke and Mirrors

That's how my wife described this disappointing hotel experience. The pictures look lovely and show a beautiful stately hotel. But up close the reality is not that great. The tired old carpets are stained and we actually saw mold in the hallways by some doors. The beds are comfortable but the top covers are worn and sad looking. Loose fixtures in the bathroom and just a lack of attention to details. But the most disappointing was the interactions with the staff and the hotel procedures. I could not print out attraction tickets or boarding passes without emailing them to the reception desk !. No online checkout. They could not get me a car to the airport in the middle of a Saturday afternoon!. Really they told me to call Uber!. And right next to the free coffee and fruit in the room is water and nuts that also appear to be free (because there is nothing to tell you otherwise) but surprise - they are not !. And they are the typical ridiculous mini-bar prices that I would never never use. When I disputed the mini-bar charge when checking out I was told by the clerk that he would have to check with his manager on Monday. Really - he was not empowered to reverse a $9 charge when I clearly felt like I was duped!. The location is perfect and I love the neighborhood but sorry I would recommend staying somewhere else.
