Airport hotels tend to favor function over fashion, but this five-star Sofitel skillfully balances both. The common areas are decidedly contemporary (glass chandeliers, futuristic furnishings), while the 605 guestrooms are outfitted with tan leather sofas and sleek hardwood headboards, with pops of deep burgundy and olive-green. There’s no need to leave for good food: Savor 31 teas from around the world at Tea 5, get your white tablecloth fix at La Belle Epoque (the only fine dining restaurant in Heathrow dishes out gourmet French fare and holds three AA rosettes), or settle in for a fireside nightcap and small plates at Sphere, the lobby cocktail bar.
In the Area
Catching a flight out of chaotic Heathrow is mercifully convenient thanks to a covered walkway linking the property directly to Terminal 5. If you have time to venture away from your gate, take the Heathrow Express to central London; you’re less than half an hour away from Paddington Station, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Or take a cab to nearby Windsor Castle; the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world offers tours of its grounds, including fall and winter visits to the ornate Semi-State Rooms (provided the queen isn’t entertaining).
How to Get There
Stayed at this hotel night before early flight. Great location for access to Terminal 5 and trains to / from London. Arrived early and was able to check-in - check in was professional and quick.
Room was comfortable and of a good size and quality.
Perfect for airport stay.
I consider this is a very good option to stay at T5 for business purposes or transit but please I have to say that is a 4* or maybe 4*sup but no a 5*GL.
Neither furniture into the rooms or lobby, nor facilities included as forfait with reservation (spa is not included for instance) or meals are not definitively as for 5*GL services.
The staff with room services or cleaning lorries share with you the lift (definitively is not a 5*GL service). The staff at Vivre restaurant ( either for dinner and breakfast) were nice but unexperienced enough. I had to wait more than 10 minutes till order my coffee. Very good hotel but not 5*GL
From the moment we arrived to check in the staff were all very polite and welcoming. We had a Junior Suite and it was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. The club lounge was lovely and served tasty snacks as well as a great selection of drinks. WiFi was fantastic throughout. The location is also superb with easy connections to the other terminals. There is a a couple of good bars as well as a tearoom and we had breakfast and dinner at Vivre. Schneider was fantastic at breakfast so a big thank you to him. We would definitely choose to stay again if flying from Heathrow again. There is also a spa and gift shop onsite too.
This is the best airport hotel by far. We stay with you on a regular basis and our holiday starts from the moment we check in. Milvan and Layinos in the Sphere Bar are so friendly, professional and welcoming each time we visit.
What a great place to stay if you have an early departure from Heathrow. Clean, modern and efficient - not to mention convenient. Rooms were spacious and well-equipped. The restaurant meals we had were deliciious and the service excellent.
