Budget Hotel..and that costs..
Reviewed 1 week ago

Stayed one night probably never again..
Room cleanliness ok, bed/mattress awful no support.
Room overlooked railway line and you get the full timetable of trains!
Room very warm and air con very noisy and had a mind of its own, shower head sprayed everywhere except on you.
Dont usually moan about below average places too much but this I will make an exception for.
Will be interested to read future reviews from other travellers

Hotel room good for price but terrible front of house
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We Booked this hotel for the second time and stayed on the 7 - 9 th May and the room for the price was fine.We booked through Expedia and breakfast was supposed to be included. My problem is that when we checked in they took the amount of my credit card for our stay which they said was just a holding deposit. I was charged the full amount upon checkout again. Also when inquiring about breakfast a rude receptionist said that it was not included.Upon my return home I double checked my booking voucher from Expedia and it stated clearly that breakfast was included. I also checked my credit card account and discovered that the Hotel charged me twice. I immediately phoned and was told by a rude receptionist and duty manager that it was not their problem and that I have to sort it out with my bank. They were completely disinterested in the breakfast issue. What to do ?

Frustrated disabled guest
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Hotel is a cost effective place to stay however it caters for lots of holiday tour buses which can make checking in and food service slow
As a disabled guest I have been continually frustrated by all the vans parking in the 8 disabled places. Although parking can be found on site it is a continual struggle to park further away than able bodied people using disabled places they shouldn’t
To date although I stay here regularly the staff have not sorted this problem
If you do visit and are not disabled please leave the disabled places for blue badge holders

Excellent despite negative reviews

I've never stayed at an English hotel with such a good standard compared to what it's been reviewed as. I was very worried when booking as it was the only one available. However the hotel was beyond my expectations.

The Room
The room was an executive room which was valued as the same as a standard. It was very clean, and had heating and air conditioning.

The Service
Although I never used the restaurant, the hotel did offer room service. For just £11 I had a huge pizza and garlic bread. As I am a vegetarian and quite fussy, the pizza wasn't that good, but was edible. Was good value for money.

Having stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, my only issue was water. When they cleaned the room the bottle was never refilled, and had to keep buying water for over £1. Next time I shall go to the service station!

Dont Stay

I had an overnight stay here with my husband and one night was enough ,,,the room was clean and the bed was okay but the meals were awful ,,the evening meal was served buffet style ,,roast pork ,,roast potatoes ,,and the type of frozen veg you buy in a bag from the supermarket , all of it was stone, we did ask if there were anything HOT but was told no , after lots of asking they agreed to warm it through in a microwave ,,,breakfast was just the same ,,,very poor food and very poor service ,,,
