New updated rooms, great views

Loved this hotel. We had booked a room with a river view and it was like looking at a live postcard. The room was very clean, equipped with high-tech controllers for AC, blinds, lights, etc. The bathroom had a tub and a stand-up shower with both a hand-held showerhead and a rain showerhead. The bedding was new, clean and so comfortable. Room cleaning and turn down service daily with a small box of fine chocolates left on the pillow. We also received a welcome gift basket with a hand-written personalized greeting card. The basket contained a small but a fine Spanish wine, which I regretted not opening sooner. There was a bottle of water provided daily. The room also came with an espresso machine. The mini bar was empty which was convenient because we would store our own water in it. Staff was very professional and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

My husband came to this hotel for a business trip, my daughters and I tagged along. We stayed in a suite with one bedroom and a separate living area. I was very nice to have the extra space. Everything is clean and well maintained. The beds are much too hard for me.. just a preference. We ate in the upstairs one day and the food was wonderful. Romero was the last face we saw before we left, he was engaging and entertaining as we waited for our uber car.

Very Disappointed

We booked an apartment with a kitchen several months prior to our arrival and although descriptions and pictures of the kitchen were on all the literature from a Plaza On the River, on arrival we were down graded to an apartment with no kitchen. We were told by reception that we had to request a kitchen separately and that none were available.
Despite Booking. Com getting involved on our behalf and being assured that a manager would contact us to resolve the situation, no one from the hotel contacted us and the manager was in meetings when we tried to contact them. Finally offered compensation on check out.
The view is amazing . The bedroom and bathroom are lovely. As stated in previous reviews there is only one chair suitable to look out at the view.
Sadly the special anniversary surprise has been ruined and we have been treated very disrespectfully.
If you book here clarify that you are getting the facilities you paid for.
