How to Get There
A very good hotel let down by poor service during breakfast and receptionist to ‘maintenance’ communication.
Service during breakfast time was haphazard.
The man with the beard whose only job was to serve the orange juice was chatting to a waitress and not serving people that had just come into the breakfast room.
No-one seemed to be allocated to serve tea/coffee to specific tables. This service should be organised properly - customers should not have look around for a waitress.
We made a very simple maintenance request to a female receptionist who made a note in a manual log. Several hours later it had not been done. We asked a male receptionist. He said it would be done right way.We left the hotel for a couple of hotel by the time we returned it had been done.
Second stay at the Pestana, and won’t be my last. This hotel is now my default location to stay on any trip to London.
Staff are amazing, as is the hotel. Probably the best night sleep I’ve had in a long time.
Hotel was in a good location and clean. Food was over priced for what you get and they add a 12.5% service charge on to everything, including drinks. When I called up before our stay to find out more about the spa treatments, which weren’t listed online, I was told there were no bookings for the next day and I’d have no trouble booking one. When we arrived at the hotel we were told there were no appointments available! Very disappointing considering the whole point of our trip was for a spa weekend get away!! When I mentioned this to staff I was just told this wasn’t their fault and that the spa is run by a different company.
