Terrific staff, lovely old hotel
Reviewed 5 days ago

We did a last minute booking of the PIH when we got to London and found our original lodgings were not suitable. Willam Britton at the front desk gave us early check in and he continued to be helpful, friendly, professional and caring during our entire stay. He gave us great advice on locations for restaurants, followed up to make sure we were happy, addressed concerns promptly and was wonderful all around.
Americans, London is not Texas, the rooms are small but immaculate and efficiently laid out. The PIH is an older building so it has its quirks and needs some renovation but it is clean, comfortable and its staff is professional and lovely. We would stay here again. Say hello to William if you stay for us.

4 star...no way !

Room was tiny ..neither bed sidelights worked..bathroom stunk of sewer drains..bed was squeezed into room under window. Very cramped. More like 1 star room..entrance /reception is nice as are the lifts..

Run and dont look back
Reviewed 1 week ago

Check-in was a disaster and to make it worse we had to check-in a second time as they lost the original.

In all if my travels I have never encountered such shambolic service in a 4 star hotel. I doubt thus us a 4 star and if it is got help the quality assurance.

The staff from concierge who took our bags to the 5 people that checked us in were hopeless.

Our room was small and pretty basic.

Take my advice run and don't look back.

Comfortable Stay

We stayed for 4 nights in a twin room. Decided on this hotel mainly due to its location - 4 minutes’ walk to Gloucester Road station, which has the District and Piccadilly lines. There are also 3 different supermarkets in the vicinity - Tesco, Waitrose, and Sainsbury. The area felt safe at night as well.

Hassle-free check-in and out. Size of room was good, and basic amenities were provided. overall a comfortable stay.

Ok rooms, dispassionate staff and rather mediocre breakfast
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Based on my experience with four star hotels in London and elsewhere in Europe and numerous stays in 2 and 3 star hotels in this city I was Somewhat let down this time. For the rate I paid of around €150 per night including breakfast I e pelted better. The room was ok but I felt somewhat unwelcome when I checked in and simlar lack of enthusiasm in the customer when I checked out- I wasn't asked whether I had enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was rather mediocre and unbefitting of a four star hotel.
