Stay at Novotel
Reviewed 4 hours ago

Practical for London and London city airport. The stay at the hotel was pleasant as usual.Paul on the front desk was excellent in every respect.Food and drink are good quality and choice. Bed was a little hard for me but room was pleasant enough. I stay here at least 10 times a year consistently good vibes from the manager down.

Nice hotel with a nice breakfast but overpriced

room was very big and clean and breakfast delivered to room was very tasty. lots of lifts so you never have to wait. nice seating area downstairs onlooking the water.

the room was cleaned very well daily and the staff were very tentative. the restaurant is overpriced.

love the coffee machine in the room and the express check out. the little touches make all the difference.

Great for the O2
Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed at the Novotel Excel to see a show in the O2.

It can be reached by the overground railway - DLR and by getting off at the Royal Victoria Station.

From here it’s about a 5-8min walk.

There is a Tesco Express nearby, and a NISA supermarket opposite the hotel. Both great for water, wine etc etc.

The hotel is clean and tidy. Rooms modern. Breakfast decent. Bar area good. It was nice to sit outside after the show with a drink and see the lights near O2.

We saw a show, so we walked about 5mins and boarded the Emirates Cable Cars which take you right over the Thames to the O2. This was a nice way to start the evening. Be aware that they close around 10:30 so you will need a taxi back tot the hotel after the show. This costs around £22

No complaints about this hotel. More expensive than premier inns (when you book early), but very similar on quality.

I think you would be happy here if all you need is a room, bar and breakfast!

No suite please
Reviewed 3 days ago

When we arrived, our check in was delayed due to suite not being ready. The staff gave a voucher for drinks from the restaurant which was appreciated. The suite was of good size. Unfortunately, the shower had see through glass walls and anyone else in the room could see the person in shower which made it very difficult for us considering the age of our children. When we raised it with the hotel, we were initially advised that there is a button to make the shower walls opaque. There was no button and the hotel receptionist could not find either. Then we were told that the shower was made just like that. This meant that all the family had to move out of the room when one member was having shower. We requested for change of suite. The receptionist told it will be done but then we never heard back from them. We managed somehow although we could not understand the pathetic planning and purpose behind the showers.
The buffet breakfast was good.

Good but overpriced Hotel
Reviewed 5 days ago

The room was generally good but its cleaning was inadequate. The A/C not functioning well, making night sleep terrible during summer but was told they were bringing fan which was never supplied. I had to request for cleaning before the cleaner could manage to reluctantly clean the room. Overall impression is that the quality is far below the price!
