How to Get There
Worst hotel I've been to. On two occasions my AC was broken with no solutions provided. They moved my room once and then said maintenance would fix my second AC problem. That never happened.. I complained once more and they requested a fan and free breakfast.
With all of that said, the service and bar staff were exceptional but in wouldn't recommend a visit if you want to sleep.
Average check in. Room directly behind elevators but noise wasn't an issue. Room average, but nice to have a proper bath.
Average service in the bar. Average check-out.
So no thrills, nothing outstanding but no issues either.
I spent one night in this Novotel after 3 nights in the Ibis Styles next door and, to my surprise, I must say I found the Ibis Styles better. Starting with the lobby, which in Ibis is very cozy, whereas the one in Novotel is very cold and impersonal. But that's probably just their style and has no bearing on my rating.
As a Gold Accor member, I was upgraded to an Executive room and, to be honest, in the end I wish I hadn't been. Although there were two of us, the room seemed to be intended for one person only as there was only one bathrobe and one pair of slippers. But the real unpleasant surprise was the bathroom sink which was clogged and drained very slowly. This is unacceptable for a Novotel and I can't believe the housekeeping didn't notice this. How is that even possible? The bathroom was otherwise very clean and, to be fair, I didn't report the problem with the sink as we were there for one night only, but still, it left a bad impression. I was also appalled by the quality of the toilet paper or, should I say, the lack thereof. There was a queen bed in the room, but there was also another bed that was made for I don't know what reason, which took up half the room and made it quite cramped. So we get two double beds but only one bathrobe and pair of slippers? Completely bizarre.
On the plus side, the staff are amazing! Every single employee we interacted with was extremely polite and nice. Breakfast was great too, although there could be more sweet options. I also had a fantastic view of the Shard, which I had requested and was very grateful that my request was honoured. So it's not a bad hotel by any means, but I probably expected too much, especially considering the price which is really excessive and not exactly justified.
This place is OK, convenient location, clean, hospitable, but not great especially seating area. I occasionally have meetings here because it is convenient, but it is soulless. Not stayed, not sure I would there are nicer places nearby
Very decent hotel, with a good location. Excellent for business travelers as well as tourists. But, I experience most hotels of this chain are somewhat impersonal and so is this one. Rooms were convenient and clean though. Breakfast was good, enough options to anyone’s liking.
