How to Get There
Well if you go by the pictures on the official website then great as we did, the reality is a very different affair!
We booked a superior double, I hate to think what the standard was like if this their idea of a superior double!
The room was on the 4th floor, that’s fine, the room was dated, nothing like the pictures on the website, I Pre ordered a bottle of champagne and they could not get that right, they sent 2 and both had been sat in warm water as the ice had dissolved in the heat.
I went straight back to reception and explained how dissatisfied I was but got told they had no other rooms, we tried to get a bottle of wine and got told they had run out! Seriously it’s a hotel and they run out of rose wine?
The bed was tired and made so much noise it was terrible to sleep in, the bathroom was dirty and not as in the pictures on the website the walls dirty and grubby.
The air con did not work and being the 4th floor it was hot.
And a superior double is apparently a connected room with the next room, wow how delightful for us!
I went down to reception at 09:00 and got told that no manager was available to speak to me as they did not start work until later, again not great is it, so I spoke to a young lady called Elaine who was very sorry and I explained all the above. But she needed to speak to a manager.
Also a letter in the room stating that the hotel had building works being carried out and it would be possible to hear drilling in the day, so breakfast was a noise affair!
So after speaking with a manager they first told me they would refund me for both nights, but then changed their minds and refunded me for just one as I didn’t stay, very poor service as they told me that they had not completed all the room upgrades and they knew about the room issues and they had complaints before.
Look at the pictures and see for yourself.
We left the next morning and went to Nobu in shoreditch for the same money!
Do it stay here it’s a terrible hotel and over priced.....
A beautiful and high-class boutique hotel, located in Chelsea in a central and comfortable location.
Staff and service are excellent.
I would like to mention Ms. Iyda and the amazing service I received from her.
Stayed for 2 nights whilst up for the flower show. Great location only 2 minutes stroll from South Kensington tube and very peaceful amongst restaurants just off the King's Road. Our room was spacious with a separate sitting area and huge comfy bed. Unusually light and airy for a London hotel and we thought it was exceptional value at under £200 per night. Food offering is limited but that was not a problem for us as so much choice locally. Will definitely return.
We stayed at this hotel prior to visiting Chelsea Flower Show. Hotel was in a very nice quiet street. On arrival we checked in with friendly staff at reception ( Aida). Room was very pleasant and well appointed. We were pleased with our choice of hotel. We did not eat in the hotel but at a fantastic Levantine restaurant in Bute Street called CERU.
We turned in early as we wanted a prompt start for Chelsea. We were rudely awakened at 1.00am approximately by someone coming into our room. The man apologised and retreated, closing the door. I shot out of bed to re-lock the door. I couldn’t understand how someone could open the locked door. One minute later the phone rang and upon answering I was asked my name. The staff member, I presume, said the computer had shown the room to be empty and not clean. He was unapologetic and clearly surprised that I was the person who had booked the room. He said his computer was not showing we had checked in. I suggested to him that that was his problem and I didn’t want to discuss this right now. It was a while until I slept again and we were up for breakfast just before 7am. When we were eating breakfast, a staff member named Roger came over to our table and apologised profusely for disturbing us during the night. Again he said his computer was not showing we had checked in. Again I suggested to him that he had training issues or maybe computer issues to deal with.
This is a lovely hotel The staff are very nice people but not professional or trained properly. I write this so that the the hotel owners address the issues I have raised; training and their computer system. This is completely unacceptable in a hotel anywhere, far less a hotel in Chelsea, London. We were very disappointed to say the least.
We have just stayed for two nights as we were in London for the Chelsea flower show
The hotel has been refurbished to a very nice standard, spacious rooms and a nice bathroom
Breakfast is not included and costs £15 pp, it's a buffet breakfast.
Nice bar/ lounge area, typical of a boutique hotel
Avoid the rooms close to the bar on the ground floor as it can get noisey later in the evening
The staff are excellent and really friendly, they can't do enough for you to make sure you have a good stay.
