How to Get There
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Millennium Gloucester. Resham, the events organiser, was very attentive right from the very beginning. She was helpful, friendly and gave speedy responses from the beginning to the end. The chefs were excellent; Pranab & Stanley made delicious food & all our guests loved it. The team have been incredible throughout our whole journey. We had a wonderful day - it was the best wedding ever!!
Where do I start? This place is a real dump. The carpets and walls throughout all of the floors are in dire need of replacement. They are not just outdated, but they are worn through and dirty. The carpets and the walls.
The initial room I was given (#715) looked worse than a typical Motel for US standards. There was a busted window and the heat did not work. The walls were dirty (looks like they have not been painted in at least 10 years). Major bonus was my absolute favorite - filthy worn carpet. Lucky for me there was a pair of slippers cause I would not put my feet on those floors if the room caught fire.
I called desk about no heat and broken window. They said they would send maintenance. After waiting 15 minutes (with my coat on) I finally went down to the desk to complain. They gave me a new room #657 which is slight upgrade, but again, similar to motel (but with a coffee pot, ironing board and cheeses robes). Still very dated, worn and dirty.
Unfortunately I fled room 715 before taking any pictures, but I’ll share some of 657 which show worn carpet, black hair in bathroom (not mine, I’ve been practically bald for 20 years) the dates furniture, peeling paint (I hope no lead) etc. room does have a newer TV.
Why do they have a hookup for a modem? Who uses a modem any longer?
Also checking took about 30 min. Computer systems were down and lots of trainees working the desk. Had to do checking manually with pen and paper. This place is stuck in the 1950’s and not in a good way.
My recommendation would be to try to find a cleaner, more modern place to lay your head.
Third visit to this hotel but it is so dated and many more Hotels nearby in same price range. On checkout the staff member wanted us to pay without seeing bill first. The bar has limited amount of spirits and its a hotel used by air crew so very busy.
