Lovely Hotel Apartment near Canary Wharf London

Stayed 15 nights at the lovely Marriott Executive Apartments recently. The staff was excellent - welcoming, friendly and professional. The hotel apartments were on the upper floors (9-12) offering great views. Apartments are modern, spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The ambience of the room and sleep quality were excellent.

Great links from the hotel to central London. The West India Quay light rail station is a couple of minutes walk away while the Canary Wharf station is about 5-6 minutes away.

Shopping is at your doorstep with the Cabot, Canary Wharf and Jubilee Shopping Centres all close by. The huge Westfield Mall in Stratford is a short £1.75 ride away on both the DLR( Docklands Light Railway) and the Jubilee line.

A great number of dining options in the area but ensure to sample the in-house Manhattan Grill for a delicious steak.

Great value for money. If you are staying at the apartments request rooms riverside.

Although you have to transfer from the main line to get here, the location was super convenient. There are a lot of eateries and a large shopping center nearby. The entrance to the train is very close also. The grocery store is near by to stock the fridge and all flatware/silverware/cookware is already stocked for you. There is a free washer/dryer on the floors also.

It was perfect as london was in the middle of our trip and we were able to launder our clothes and have the comforts of home with a kitchen.

The staff is nice and service oriented also. The rooms are clean and quiet too.

This hotel is at the north end of Canary Wharf. While searching for a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, we found that rooms with more than one bed are hard to find in London. We were happy to find this apartment option with Marriott instead of having to reserve two rooms. They didn't have a 2 bedroom apartment available, but we easily fit in a one bedroom with 2 roll-away twin sized beds for our kids. The apartment included a small kitchen with stove, oven, half-sized fridge, pots & pans, dishes and utensils and a counter with stools to eat by. The living area included a sofa and two chairs, coffee table and a writing desk and chair. Our apartment was at the end of the floor so we had windows on two sides. Our views looked out over the city. The bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed and the bathroom was spacious. We stayed for 9 nights and appreciated being able to make our own breakfast and pack snacks for our days of sightseeing. There is a Tesco Metro grocery store about 5 min walk away, so it was easy to stock up. The room was clean and modern with cleaning service twice a week and some freshening midweek. The apartments have access to the hotel fitness room and room service. The staff are super friendly and helpful, providing directions and helping with reservations.

The building is a modern glass tower on the bank of a canal. There are other restaurants along the canal and a steel bridge for access to the shopping area and square on the other side. Canary Wharf is a growing collection of skyscrapers for businesses and residences. It was much quieter on the weekend, but there are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from.

There is access to the Docklands Light Rail (DLR) a short 5 minute walk away. The DLR provides connections further east or west to the Tower of London (and transfers to the Underground). It also extends south to the Greenwich area which includes the Observatory, Cutty Sark, and Maritime Museum. The Jubilee line (Underground) was about 10-15 minute walk, providing access to central London with a 10-15 minute ride.

We enjoyed our stay and found this to be a great place for our family.

This is a hice hotel with option to stay in the apartments if you have a longer stay.

This is a very nice hotel and the apartment was fine, terrible views of the train tracks along the whole back side of the hotel, so don't count on any views of the water. For the family vacationer who wants to sightsee and do the tourist thing in London, this is not a good option for you.

The website is a little misleading about how close the London tube stop is to the hotel and so it was 10-15 minute walk to the tube and then two different train rides -switching lines at least once to get to most of the major London attractions. It was almost an hour each way added on to your itinerary.... which made it difficult.

The hotel itself is situated in business area - all business professionals in the restaurants and the bars... lots of cute places to eat on the Canary Wharf but it is not a tourist area at all. This area is London's new financial district and is completely empty on the weekends.

Also, the hotel does not provide a free breakfast or include breakfast for the apartments.... there is no place to get snacks at all and everything is room service with charges... not even a place to get water or a soda, etc.

The hotel does not seem focused on the family traveler or tourist... mostly a business hotel. I would suggest staying closer to the London attractions even if the rate is a bit higher.... save you a lot of time with traveling back and forth to attractions.

Excellent apartment suites in buzzing Canary Wharf area

Very nice, very comfortable hotel and apartment suites in Canary Wharf area. Best features: Views of the water and REALLY QUIET rooms! This is one of the rare hotels where the sound-proofing is top-notch, both from exterior as well as interior noise. Comfortable, clean, nice decor, well-furnished rooms - and a great AC system, with individual settings for each room. Our experience is with the apartment suites more so than the hotel rooms, but the apartment was perfect for our 5-member family: a spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite, with living room and a kitchenette (the only downside was the lack of a dining area or nook). The kitchenette was well-furnished with tableware, cookware, a microwave, toaster, full 4-burner stove and oven, half-size fridge; a nice perk was a complimentary goodie box of snacks, cereals, milk, juices, coffees, and teas (this kitchenette - with a nearby Tescos - was great for breakfast and saving not only cost but also the hassle of getting everyone roused out of bed, dressed, and washed up to head to a restaurant or cafe). Other helpful amenities: complimentary washer and dryer (we went back home with suitcases full of clean clothes instead of dirty ones!), fitness center (a bit tight on space but packed with cardio and weight machines), a comfortable lobby, on-site restaurants, and excellent friendly staff. The location is very good with many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance - and the tube stop (Jubilee line) is just a 5-minute walk away, which'll take you into Central London (e.g. Westminster) in about 20 minutes.

Do be aware that the hotel and the apartments are run separately (even though it's the same building) - thus, hotel guests have access to the 7th floor Marriott Club Lounge while apartment guests do not. However, all the other facilities and amenities are equally shared.
