Good facilities but pricey for what you get
Reviewed 16 hours ago

I recently stayed and was upgraded to an exec room to my surprise and pleasure!
The room was excellent and spacious with a wonderful bed and shower facilities.
Unfortunately the sofas were not the best so uncomfortable to sit on.
The side table was broken and wobbled when I put anything on it.
I went to the Maze restaurant for breakfast and ordered the full English. The food was good quality and well cooked but I had to pay extra for toast and found the overall meal not good value for money or quality.
Good hotel but pricey for what you get.

The hotel location is fantastic! But considering it is 5 star and the cost per night, one would expect that WiFi would be free & available in your room. Had to use the free WiFi in the lobby. The room was comfortable but not significantly better than other 3 or 4 star rooms

Fantastic stay!

I’m honestly not sure why I fell in love with this hotel. It’s aged badly. The renovations in 2011 seems like small cosmetic changes which must have changed the rooms from unattractive to barely visually pleasing. In fact I would go as far to argue that the rooms weren’t actually designed by an interior designer. Their starkness and lack of colour is unnecessary. Yet here’s the thing. The staff are probably the best I have experienced anywhere. The executive lounge food is exceptional, the location in central London terms is where you want to be and the size of the room in central London terms very generous. It’s not luxurious. So if you are after a ritz or clariages this is not it, (obviously a different price point too) but what a fanatic experience.

Rip-off service charge ...
Reviewed 3 days ago

We were attending a large corporate function so to be fair to the kitchen, they had hundreds of meals to cook and plate. The 3 course meal was nicely cooked and presented on the plate and quite flavoursome. Not big portions, but adequate. The servers got the food out quickly and cleared the tables equally as quickly. No complaints on that side.

But what really annoyed me was the bar ... the barkeeps were unfriendly, slow and charged a 12.5% service charge on drink prices that were already extortionate. How can management justify charging a surcharge for just serving drinks (and poorly at that) ????

I know management will respond that the service charge is optional, but i seriously doubt the barkeeps would have removed it if asked, given their attitudes. It shouldn't be applied in the first place, there's absolutely no need to charge it, customers can tip and will if they receive good service.

"Fully booked"

Unacceptable!

I have booked a room on dayuse.com two weeks in advance and on my arrival was told at the reception that there are fully booked today!!! Receptionist admitted cancelling my booking without letting me know, because I was running half an hour late (or they had a better offer on the day, I'm not sure!)

Please be aware of this issue, as the booking services in this hotel are unreliable and you might be left without a room and an apology!!!

I have been using dayuse.com for a while and never had this problem before!
